Wolfkit, Shadekit, and Stormkit's Apprentice Ceremonies

"Let all... cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock... for a clan meeting!" Thrushstar rasped.

Shadekit's ears perked at Thrushstar's call, his eyes blinking rapidly as he prodded Stormkit's ribs- his drowsiness vanishing as he eagerly leaped to his paws. Scrambling to his paws and pushing past the sharp brambles of the nursery, Shadekit stepped out into the clearing and looked at the crowd that gathered below Thrushstar. "Come on Stormkit! You're going to miss the Clan meeting." Shadekit purred, looking back at his sister's sleeping form, before looking up at Thrushstar in anticipation.

Wildfang sat down near the Jaggedrock. He looked up at Thrushstar with his yellow eyes.

Stormkit struggled to her paws, blinking after Shadekit with hazy eyes and following after him almost on autopilot -- only to freeze in place when she reached the edge of the crowd. She shook her head free of cobwebs, butting against her brother's flank to get out the last, dusty remnants clinging to her thoughts, and pressed close against him as she looked up at Thrushstar. The side of her muzzle curled a little, clear eyes intent on the leader, and Stormkit leaned almost all her weight on Shadekit to keep herself upright in her excitement. "...like I'd miss our own apprentice ceremony!" she huffed, keeping her eyes trained up on the Jaggedrock, and leaned harder against Shadekit's side.

Wolfkit poked her head out of the nursery shily, then advanced through the cats, trying to creep around them unseen and without making them aware of her existence. After tripping over ber paws and accidentaly walking over someone's tail, she managed to the front and sat down there, stcained with emotion.

Annoyed by the off-putting weight being pressed against his side, Shadekit bumped Stormkit with his hip and sent his smaller sister reeling as he huffed at her words. "You'd sleep through the second coming of Starclan!" Shadekit retorted, leaning over to nip at his sister's ear before bounding ahead a few steps before diving into the gathered mass of warm bodies, picking his way around the collection of various tails and paws that barred his path to the front of the crowd. "Hurry up! You're gonna miss the entire ceremony back there!" Shadekit tossed his head back and called to Stormkit as he settled down in an open space beside Wolfkit -whom he assumed was also being made an apprentice as well.

Stormkit let out an offended squeak, catching her breath as she stumbled away from her brother and just keeping herself from falling over as she raced after him. She flicked her nipped ear at him nonchalantly, settling down in the space next to him and whisking her tail through the packed dirt to toss a few twigs at both Stormkit and Wolfkit. "Hmph! You're just faster 'cause you're bigger, and now I'm here, jeez. It hasn't even started yet...!!"

Leopardfang sat in the clearing for the first time in a long while. He was usually up on the rock, initiating the ceremony. It was good to see Thrushstar taking action for himself and getting back into things, and it brought about a relieving sense of normalcy for the deputy. He watched the kits, remembering when his own were their age. He'd had no clue what their fates had in store for them. Perhaps these three would turn out better than his own: two code-breakers and one dead. He shook the thoughts away and realized that he had been staring a little too long at Wolfkit. He hoped he hadn't scared her with his stony gaze.

Tigerflower had stayed in the nursery to help the other queens despite not having any more kits of her own, but now she felt it was time to move on. The only way to get past her troubles was to immerse herself in clan life and get on with it. Bitterness was unhealthy for working warriors.

Darkkit bounded across the clearing and sat underneath the highrock. In her mind she dreamed of the day she would become apprentice.

Webtail watched in amusement as the kits began to bicker, sitting down to watch the ceremony. It was surprising to see Thrushstar at all, he was usually tucked away in his den.
