A Blaze of Black Embers (Birth Topic)

Blacktwig was on a nice walk with Emberfall. The breeze was smooth and flowing, and hues of warm, satisfactory colors brought joy to the tom. Now, Leaf-fall had already arrived, with the tortoiseshell strutting alongside his mate. The time was very near when his kits would be born, so he made sure to keep a watchful eye on Emberfall, meeting with her more than usual. Confidence flooded him so much to meet her outside of Fourtrees, for a change. His mate's sleek calico pelt mesmerized him so, and, with the sun reflecting perfectly off of her amber orbs, illuminating them like sap spilling down the side of a tall oak tree in the morning light, she looked more beautiful than ever. Their steps were so calculated, so perfected, that it was almost like they knew each other for more moons then their actual age.

He stopped by a lonely stump in the middle of a grassy clearing. He halted to groom himself, planning for it to be no more than just a simple pit-stop.

But it wasn't.

Emberfall smiled "Nice walk out right?" she mewed quickly, she had been feeling weird this whole trip. It was weird how she had never had this feeling while being with Blacktwig.

Blacktwig looked at her. "Yeah," he purred, still entranced by her mild amber gaze and warm words. He brushed up against her, twining his tail with hers.

Morningshine had been concerned about Blacktwig, as she noticed that he had been leaving camp alone at night and sometimes during the daytime. Sure, if he had left once, then Morningshine wouldn't care, but this was a repetitive thing. She had not wanted to come down to this, but the she-cat had decided to follow Blacktwig. She stayed in the foliage, keeping herself concealed, and staying a few paces away from Blacktwig. She noticed that her cousin hadn't done or seen anyone yet, but she continued to head on. Eventually, she noticed that the tom had met up with...some other she-cat. She blinked, noticing that the scent was WindClan. She had to hold back a growl. As she continued to follow and watch them, she noticed that the she-cat had a swollen belly, and that they were talking to each other as if...they were in love...

No, Blacktwig couldn't of done this. That was against the code! When she decided that the time was right, she emerged from the bushes with a scowl on her face. Morningshine had never looked this upset, in fact she had never been seen without a smile or a neutral expression, but this just disappointed and disturbed her.
"Blacktwig!" She growled, crossly, "Why are you here? And who is this...WindClan cat?"
The she-cats voice was tainted with anger and sounded like a half hiss, half growl.

Blacktwig's gaze faltered when she approached, cowering. "I..." The tom began, but he was at a loss for words. He shrunk into a bush, voice wavering. "I'm so sorry..." He mumbled guiltily, his words nothing more than a scared little mutter beneath his breath.

Morningshine continued to glare.
"I'm so disappointed in you, Blacktwig. I thought that you were completely loyal to ThunderClan, but your heart has lead you in the wrong direction. If Stormstrike was here, he'd probably be more angry than I am! And a lot more disappointed." The she-cat said, her blue eyes narrowed. She then averted her gaze to Emberfall, stalking towards her, "And you've let your heart guide you away from WindClan! And you two are not just mates, but you're also having kits?"
She sank her hooked claws into the dirt, growling, "You're both...just..." She didn't was to take it this far, but it had come to that, "Disgraces and traitors!"

Blacktwig winced at his cousin's harsh approach. He now wondered with sheer uncertainty if it was the right thing. But he loved Emberfall. They were having kits, and that's what he wanted. He wanted to be with her, and he felt heartbroken by Morningshine's response. He took a step back, and glanced at Emberfall. His gaze was clouded with sorrow, yet it was soft with love for her. She was so close to having his kits, and he couldn't bear to be like this, torn.

Mosspaw peeked her head around the corner. Spying was fun, and now, she'd learnt the identity of Blacktwig's... special friend. When Morningshine had appeared, she decided it was time to reveal herself.

"AHA!" the apprentice leapt out of the trees, resisting the urge to tackle someone to the ground. "I KNEW IT! I knew it I knew it I knew it! You DO like her!"

Pinepaw's glare was amkingle of harshness and simpathetic softness as he revealed himself from his hunting and into the group of cats. "Blacktwig has forever been loyal to ThunderClan, and I do not understand the harshness." he mewed, lookingnat the forbidden couple.

Emberfall slowly listened as cats gathered, yelling and Blacktwig. She was about to fight back with a sharp response before feeling pain, it cut through her and she laid down breathing hard.

Blacktwig shot a glare at the cats around him, mainly because he felt overwhelmed and was masking it with internal anger. The anger was real, but not as much as the fear that was devouring him whole. When Emberfall collapsed, he felt the urge to crouch down beside her and encourage her, but he furiously waved his tail for them to leave instead. So many people knew now.

Pinepaw wrinkled his nose at the warrior before he cut between the two cats, passing his tail over the black warrior's face, smiling coldly. "She's going to hate us both, frankly." the Havanna Brown mewed, reffering to Sheeppaw with a sharp pang of sadness towards their last time alone.

Blacktwig gazed into his eyes for a moment, knowing the she-cat he was referring to. The tom only wanted love, and it must make him sorrowful to know that Sheeppaw declined him. Yet he was strong. Blacktwig attempted to peer past Pinepaw before he walked by, giving him a longing look before returning his gaze to Emberfall. He crouched beside her after grabbing a stick in his jaws. He laid it down beside her. "Here, try this," Blacktwig offered sympathetically. He brushed his tail along Emberfall's swollen flank, hoping she wouldn't flinch.

Mosspaw stared in disbelief. "You're having kits? Well..." She smirked, though a small look of worry crossed her face. "You may have gotten yourself into a bit 'o trouble there."

Blacktwig didn't hiss, but looked at her with a tinge of desperation. "Well... I'll take care of them as best I can." He promised with a steely gaze and a quiet voice.
