The Spunky Bold Feather (OPEN)

A silver she cat with grey tiger tabby stripes and green eyes padded out of the nursery. Featherkit flicked her tail and saw a pine cone. Crouching the kit stalked towards the pine cone in her best hunting pose. She pounced and wrestled with the pine cone until she heard paw steps.

Runningpaw padded up behind the kit, his whiskers twitching. "Careful there, pinecones can be pretty fierce..."

Featherkit purred. "Oh yeah? If their so fierce then how come they just lie around on the ground all the time like a lazy cat?" She meowed turning to the apprentice.

The grey tom blinked, taken aback by the kit's feistiness. After a few moments, Runningpaw shook his head and shrugged. "Well, I guess pinecones and I have some things in common." The apprentice sprawled on the ground dramatically. "Lazy one day..." He jumped up and clawed at the air, grinning handsomely. "And terribly fierce the next..."

"They, um... They're prickly. There are little spikes on the pine cone. Maybe that's how it's fierce?" A small voice came from the nursery as Rabbitkit stepped out. She was certainly one of the older kits still there, but there hadn't been any kind of ceremony for her. She wasn't quite sure why, but she wasn't going to push it. Crowstar would start her ceremony when he felt like it. "I, uh... I don't know. But that's my opinion."

Featherkit grinned at Runningpaw. "Well, then I'll call you pine cone. Maybe your right." The she cat turned as Rabbitkit spoke up.

"Gee...what has the forest come to, when kits are smarter than apprentices?" Runningpaw turned toward the new kit, dipping his head. "It's an honor..." he crooned, grinning ear to ear. "My friend here is Featherkit, and I'm pinecone..." Runningpaw shot a glance at Featherkit, laughter in his eyes.

Featherkit laughed as Runningpaw called himself pinecone. "Yeah. Hi." She meowed then laughed a little bit more.

The kit smiled shyly as the two introduced themselves. "I've accidentally gotten a lot of splinters on pine cones... But hello, Featherkit and uh... Pinecone?" she giggled to herself as she looked at Runningpaw. "Is that your real name?" she asked.

Runningpaw grinned crookedly, his tail twitching with amusement. "Obviously"
The tom began to laugh, but his eyes were soft. The apprentice often found a soft spot for kits, despite his sarcastic manner.

Featherkit purred. "Nah. His real name is Runningpaw. But his nickname is pinecone." She giggled.

Rabbitkit tilted her head at the apprentice when he had said that his name was obviously Pinecone but then began to laugh. She couldn't tell if he was being serious or not, but she was corrected when Featherkit told her that that was not the case. "Oh okay!" she giggled before looking back at Runningpaw. "You're silly!" she squeaked.
