Kits! (Night, Coon, Silvercloud, Fleshboy, AwkwardBear)

Halfmoon lay in the nursery, feeling the gentle newleaf sun. And thinking of her mother. Tansyfoot. She had never known her. Whitefoot said she was beautiful. Skilled. Mentored by Fishstar. A kind cat... A good mother. But she had never been a mother because...

Then she felt it.

A sudden pain in her sides made her gasp. The kits in her belly squirmed even more. Was this it? This was it.Oh no oh no oh no... "Reedfang! Cloudpaw! The kits!" StarClan.. Oh StarClan... Tansyfoot, Whitefoot, Fallenblaze, Salmonstripe, don't let me die!

At the yowl of his name, the warrior who was eating at the time abandoned his food, and ran over to the nursery where his mate was staying. "I'm here Halfmoon. Cloudpaw should be on the way soon." He said to his mate. He wasn't too sure what to do beside be there for his mate.

Halfmoon panted as her mate rushed in. Thank StarClan. "Reedfang, I don't want to die..." With a groan and a spasm of pain, a small bundle slid out. Momentarily, her pain disappeared as she gazed at the tom. (Goosekit) "He's beautiful, Reedfang, " she breathed. Then came another racking pain.

Reedfang flinched at his mates words. "You aren't going to die Halfmoon. You are doing fine." He said with a purr. He made sure he was attentive to everything going on in case something went wrong. He had seen medicine cats doing this before, so he quickly began to lick the new kit to warm up the kit up.

The mostly-white tomkit took his first refreshing breath of air. He couldn't see a thing, but felt something rubbing his fur and warmth flowed into his very small body. He was a bit scrawny, even for a kit. He smelled two large beings around him and weakly mewed for what he assumed was his mother.

Halfmoon groaned as another kit, this one a gray she-kit, appeared. She tried to purr at Reedfang, but the effort was too much. Am I too weak for this?

"You are doing great Halfmoon. Keep it up." He said to his mate. He took the new kit, and began to warm up the gray kit. He hoped this wouldn't last too much longer, hopefully Halfmoon could handle a little more stress. He didn't want to lose her yet.

Halfmoon stifled a yowl as the final kit, a brown tom-kit, slid out. Gradually, the pain ebbed away. The she-cat purred and licked her kits. "What should we name them?" she purred quietly.

Reedfang gave off a purr as his mate was finally done, and he had three beautiful children. "I think the first one should be named Goosekit." He said looking at the first kit to be born. "And I think you should name the other two since you did all the work." He just wanted to name one, and he hoped that Halfmoon would agree with the name.

Halfmoon nodded at the name, touching the white tom-kit as they all suckled. "How about Pebblekit for the gray she-kit? And... Hawkkit for the brown tom?" She wrapped her tail around the kits. When they opened their eyes, would they be scared of her face?

The kit squirmed into the large being's thick fur. He nibbled and suckled and felt his stomach fill. He felt other things, still larger, but not by much, wiggling beside him. He drank in the scents. The being that gave him milk had a sweet, welcoming scent that he paired with the satisfaction of fullness. 

A muffled noise made it through the kit's sealed ears. He heard it, a strange noise... G... goo.... Goosekit. The word meant nothing to him, he didn't have the slightest idea of what words even where. But somehow, he was able to associate it with himself. A noise he should respond to. A word that meant "me."

Goose... Goosekit. I am Goosekit.
