Saltpaw's Patrol/Training

"Saltpaw! Wake up!" The tom meowed softly, standing by the apprentice sleeping area. Her original mentor had recently retired and the tom was given the job to take her on a patrol. He was actually quite happy that he was taking a youngster on a patrol since all of his apprentices were grown and had families, so hopefully today would be a fun patrol.

"Mm. One more minute." Saltpaw mumbled, burying her fluffy white head deeper into the moss that lined the burrow where she was sleeping. The she-cat had slept late last night, messing around with her siblings in their nests.

Icestorm gave a small chuckle. "Sorry but the day doesn't have another minute to spare." He walked foward and gently nudged the she-cat with his paw. "Come on sleepy head." The grey tom said a bit sternly, knowing they should get going.

"Pft, you're mean, Icestorm." The she-cat mumbled, a piece of moss dangling off her whiskers as she got up from her nest, eyes just open enough that she knew where to navigate without stepping on her denmates. A low growl emitted from an fellow apprentice when she shook off the moss, hitting them on the head but by then, knowing her mistake, she leaped out of the burrow like her tail was on fire. "Well I'm awake now. Where are we going?"

He hadn't really planned a place to go, but it shouldn't be to hard, right? "Well, where did you and Feathertail not go when you patrolled with her?" The tom asked padding towards the edge of camp. He didn't want to bore the she cat by going where they already explored, so asking her was the best option.

"Hm... We haven't gone to the Lone stump. Feathertail usually takes me near the Thunderpath." Saltpaw replied, following along side the tom as she thought about all the places she'd yet to patrol. Her mother had been a thorough teacher, she'd learnt quite a surprising amount from her.

"Then to the lone stump we go." Icestorm said with a smile and picked up the pace to a trot. "Last one there is crowfood!" He meowed happily to Saltpaw, starting to run in the direction of the lone stump. So mean, huh? I may be older, but I can still have fun! Unlike Cedarfur, he didn't usually enjoy races, nor have any interest in beating anyone. He kept running a comfortable pace, slow enough for Saltpaw to easily pass him if she gave a sudden burst of speed.
