As they finally figured out the complicated plan, she responded softly to Whitefoot. "Okee! Meet ya there!" She flicked her tail, gesturing for her and the other cats to go. It was a beautiful sight to see the sun peeking in through the leafless branches.

Troutstep followed the patrol. He knew his apprentice would catch up. And if Barrenpaw chose not to get up, that was his problem. The apprentice would be the one missing out on training.

Barrenpaw looked toward Salmonstripe to lead the way once Fallenpaw announced that he wanted to get on with the patrol. I wish I had a tail to flick, the apprentice thought as he turned his gaze to his behind, where no tail hung from his backside.
