Rookpaw hunting training/ patrol

"Come on Rookpaw. Time to patrol and hunt." Spottedfeather mewed to her daughter/apprentice. She still couldn't believe that her child was now her apprentice. But it was a tough time for Thunderclan.

Rookpaw leapt out of the apprentice den and tumbled into her mother, who was also her mentor.

Spottedfeather felt the weight of Rookpaw hit her legs, her only slightly budging. She giggled and licked Rookpaws head. "Come on." she padded out into the forest and waited for the little she-cat to catch up.

Rookpaw bounced up and bounded to Spottedfeather. "What are we doing today?" she meowed eagerly. her eyes sparkled with wonder.

"We are going to see the borders, and then we are going to hunt" she smiled and padded away, accaisonaly looking back to make sure the little apprentice was with her. She stopped looking to the apprentice. "What do you smell?" she pointed to Sunningrocks and then the river. Though not signalling her to go there.

Rookpaw padded behind her mentor and then sniffed. "Gross!" she mewed, backing away and shaking her head. "What is that? It smells like fish guts!" she said, utterly disgusted.

"That is Riverclan territory. Now lets go to Shadowclan." Spottedfeather padded away, getting closer and closer to a roaring noise. "Now this is the Thunderpath, so be careful." she slowly padded through a bush, coming just tail lengths from the asphalt path.

Rookpaw padded up beside Spottedfeather. She took a sniff and almost immediatwly scrunched her nose up. "That's not as bad but still gross. I can't believe they actually smell like that." Rookpaw mewed.

"Yes, it is horrible. Now across here, is Shadowclan territory. Never cross here unless you are with a warrior." Spottedfeather looked to the young apprentice, making sure her message went clear.

Rookpaw nodded at the message. "But why? I thought all the clans liked each other." Rookpaw glanced down one way of the large path. She inched slightly close before looking down the other way

"Well, we are okay with each other, but we fight over territory or prey. We don't want other clans to take our prey, especially since its leaf-bare. Now lets go." Spottedfeather padded away from the Thunderclan carefully guiding Rookpaw away from it. She came to a fence and motioned to Rookpaw. "This is Twolegplace. This is where kittypets stay with their owners. Never go here unless you are told to or are with warrior."

Rookpaw looked at the fence. Curiosity sparkled in her eyes. She inched closer and drank in the scent. She barely listened to her mentor's instructions and focused on the fence.

Spottedfeather grabbed the still small enough apprentice by the scruff and carried her away. "I understand curiosity, but you shouldn't get too familiar with it. Now, you ready to hunt?"

"Hey! I'm not a kit anymore!" Rookpaw yowled in protest. At the mention of hunting, Rookpaw's face lit up.

"In my eyes, you will always be my little kit" she smiled, love shining in her eyes. "Now, show me your hunting crouch" Spottedfeather put on a more serious note.
