'Hunting' Practice [OPEN]

Sunkit padded around camp in happiness. It was almost time for him to become an apprentice. I can't wait...! He danced around a little more before deciding he would do one of his favorite things: catching moths. He crouched down in a 'hunting pose', let his yellow eyes stare on a moth, and he pounced as high as he could. He caught the moth, but landed on his side. He put the moth in the fresh-kill pile and stood in pride right by it.

"Nice moth." Fallenkit mewed at his brothers catch. He looked at the moth. "Show me how to catch it, would ya, Sunkit?" He asked his litter mate, a smile plastered on his face. Fallenkit was, after all, quite optimistic.

Sunkit turned and smiled at his brother. "In fact, I will," He told Fallenkit, tilting his head up to look around for another moth. "Look, there's one right there," The kit said, gesturing toward a grey, large moth flittering quite slowly. "First, you crouch in a hunting pose like the warriors do, then you have to target your victim, and then, you jump," He said in one breath, with a long sigh at the end. "Got it?"

As soon as Sunkit finished, Fallenkit got into position and leaped. "MRROOOOW!" He yowled as he flew towards his victim. He forgot to close his mouth and when he landed on it, the moth was caught in his mouth. He landed with a small thump on his paws. He spit out the moth and smiled. "I caught it!" He squealed in delight, and picked it up, carried it and dropped it in the prey pile.

Whitefoot stretched sleepily as he clambered out of his cozy nest, perking his ears at the familiar mews of his kits. Quietly he watched their hunting session and purred in pride, stepping out of the shadows he padded to the fresh-kill pile. "My! What big moths! They look delicious, I wonder who caught them?" He mewed as his belly grumbled hungrily. As he crouched to devour the newly caught prey he couldn't help but look in admiration at his strong and healthy brood. They grow stronger every day, my little warriors.
