Ivorypaw's training [closed]

Cedarfur woke with the sun, going to fetch Ivorypaw. Today I'll show him the best place to hunt and hopefully get some good battle training in. "Ivorypaw, get up!" he snuck into the apprentice den and prodded the young cat.

The small white she-cat had awoke with a yawn when Cedarfur had prodded her. Slowly lifting her head Ivorypaw had blinked still dazed from her sleep. "Huh..." The apprentice mewed licking her paws as she glanced over back too Cedarfur. "We're training this early..?" Ivorypaw had mewed slightly complaining as she lifted herself onto her paws and gave her white pelt a quick shake.

"yep, the earlier the better. We will beat everyone to the best prey. Now lets get going." he said softly and walked out of the den, into the crisp morning air.

Ivorypaw had let out a heavy sigh, she didn't enjoy having too wake up so early in the morning she would rather sleep for along time since she was pretty lazy. The white she-cat had quickly walked after Cedarfur an ear flicking. "So are we going to go hunting or something?" The white she-cat mewed slightly curious what they would be doing today.

"Yes. I think that is the best place to start. Then if you want, we can do some battle training." he thought for a moment. "So how do you like being an apprentice?" he asked, trying to make things not so boring.

Ivorypaw had nodded as she quickly caught up to her mentor where she was able too walk besides him intead of behind him. The she-cat gave his question some thought, being an apprentice was so much funner then being a kit that was for sure but it was so much work she didn't really enjoy waking up too early. "It's tiring, I mean it's fun too but I'm not much of a morning person." The she-cat mewed with a shrug as she glanced around she never had been hunting before hopefully it'll be fine and not embarrassing. "Will I be able too eat whatever I catch? Im starving."

"Well yes and no. We need to catch some for the clan before we eat our own prey. Follow me." he picked up the pace a bit. Today was the day he would determine what his apprentice was able to do and what stuff he should go easier on her.

Having heard that it slightly had lowered her motivation too catch something, although feeding her clan would be an honor she was more interested in eating the first prey she ever caught it was a bit dissapointing. With a soft sigh Ivorypaw had quickened her pace as well, being able too follow Cedarfur rather quickly. Much like her father Lightfoot, Ivorypaw was a talented runner. "s-soo!! we will actually learn how to fight today?"

Cedarfur was surpirsed she was able to catch up so quickly. Like father like daughter. He thought to himself. "Actually learn?" he asked cocking his head to the side slowing his stride to a walk. "Did you think there was something else to do other than "actually" battle train?" he said sternly but gave a purr at the end. He could tell she was a stubborn one, again...like her father but was determined to show her training and hunting is fun, not boring.

Ivorypaw didn't respect other warriors besides for her own parents, her mother Dawnstrike was quite the beautiful she-cat and her father was trained by the leaders own son!! Ivorypaw had high standards too meet up to from the second she was born. The she-cat was slightly confused by Cedarfur's words not trying too slow down. She had hated when other warriors had questioned her abilities just because she was the smallest in her litter. "I guess." The white she-cat had huffed an ear flicking as irritation had shown clearly on her facial expression.

"No need to get your fur all fluffed up about it." Cedarfur could see she was taken aback by his question. "All I'm trying to say is I can see your expectations for training is high. And I assure you that I will meet them." he said coolly, sitting down.

Ivorypaw had grumbled too herself quietly still in a bit of a sour mood after Cedarfurs little comment. She wasn't a morning person so she was already in a bad mood and to top it all off Cedarfur had said something that wasn't too pleasing too the apprentice's ears. When Cedarfur had sat down Ivorypaw had sat down as well, keeping some distance from her new mentor it was clear that their relationship was off to a rocky start. "Hunting first right?" Ivorypaw had mewed her nose twitching.

"Yep." he gave a smile, showing her he meant no harm. "And since you want to get down to business, I want you to "actually" go try to catch a rabbit. Don't worry about me or try to look for me, I'll be watching you to see what you know already. After that we will go over it."

Ivorypaw huffed she knew that she would probably be skillful in hunting, she wasn't too confident in her fighting skills however. One key disadvantage that Ivorypaw did have was her white fur, she would easily stand out too prey or enemy cats. Her whiskers had twitched when he had said that. 'Try to catch a rabbit? I actually will catch one.' The apprentice had thought to herself as she raced off without another word. She wasn't actually sure how to hunt though, this would be proven a bit more difficult then she had actually thought.

Luckily for her Ivorypaw didn't have too look very far too catch a rabbit. Right in front of her eyes, a rabbit had sprang infront of her. Now the hard part was to do the chasing, Ivorypaw's ear had flicked backwards as she lowered herself into this awkward looking crouching position. The apprentice then had slowly crept forwards and when she was close enough she sprang forward like a bullet sinking her fangs into the rabbits neck and easily breaking it. "That was too easy!"

Cedarfur watched her race off. First thing we need to work on, not waiting our energy racing off to find rabbits. He gracefully slithered between brush and making sure he was in a position she would not scent him. He watched her catch her first rabbit. Pure luck. And her over confident attitude won't always come in handy. But at least she knew to crouch down to hide her white fur. he thought to himself as he got up and walked out of the tall grass patch he hid in.
