Rabbitpaw was playing with a stray piece of moss in the apprentice den, not sleepy even though it was past sundown. He knew he was going to be tired tomorrow, but the brown tabby was too psyched up about being an apprentice. He wanted to hunt, to fight, to see all the sights. The idea of just sleeping was unbearable. Why sleep when he could be doing something?

Unable to just stay still, he decided to take a short stroll just outside camp. After the sixth growl from a fellow apprentice, he could guess they weren't enjoying his twitching in his nest. He was really doing for them, so they could sleep in peace.

The tom left camp using the well worn entrance, entering into the pine forest. He paced a bit, until he noticed the loudly frantic chirping of birds as they flew away from the direction of the fallen log. Rabbitpaw approached the direction they were fleeing from, curious as to why they were fleeing. He followed until he saw a great blaze, it was fire.

The apprentice fearing for his life, ran back to camp. His great strides barely keeping him ahead of the inferno. He raced into camp with the fire hot at his feet. And shouted for all to hear.

"FIRE!! Everyone! The forest, it's on fire!"

Maplecloud raised his head in confusion when he heard the apprentice’s screams ring out and he emerged, bleary- eyed and still half asleep. “What’re yo-” Flames appeared at the edge of camp. Fear filling his brown gaze and he dashed back into the warrior’s den, screaming. “Fire! Fire in the territory! Trolls! Trolls in the dungeon!” Then he turned tail, screeching the same thing like a mantra.

He skidded to a halt in front of the flames and turned the other direction, but not before his pelt caught fire. The brown tuxedo howled in pain as he fled downhill, towards the streams that branched off from the river. His skin shone through, a hot coal red.

Fawnspirit awoke at once at the screeching of several cats. Their words echoed around her head several times before it finally clicked and she began screeching the same thing, trying to get everyone awake and out.
She looked over to the leader's den and saw the flames beginning to creep towards it. She raced over to the den, and yelled, "Breezestar! The forest is on fire!"

I DIDN'T SIGN UP FOR THIS SHET

He'd scented the sharp sting of smoke on his tongue the moment that he'd heard one of the apprentices run sprinting into camp. It didn't take long for a full-blown panic to start. Breezestar was out in an instant. Their land was in a rocky hollow, so it hopefully wouldn't do the inside too much damage, but that still didn't change the fact that there was no way they could possibly stay there, not so long as this fire raged on.

The gray tabby ran outside, glancing up at the sky and the looking at the direction the smoke blew through the trees. It was coming from ThunderClan territory. They had two options: run to Twolegplace, run to RiverClan lands, or stay here and die. He'd thought the choice was fairly obvious then. "Fawnspirit!" He ran up to her, giving her a swift lick on the cheek, thankful that she hadn't wandered off when this had all started. "Help get the clan together, we have to get out of here." He meowed sharply, narrowing his eyes. "I won't risk any lives trying to stay here or fight this!"

To be certain everyone knew what to do, Breezestar made a powerful leap unto the Tall Branch. "Everyone!" He yowled, "Grab the kits and the apprentices! Head for the river, now!" The tom glanced back as a few flames had seemed to find their way inside. StarClan, did they get any mercy?

The tom leaped down. Still, he refused to leave until he saw everyone else was safe. He cleared out a back tunnel that lead out the otherside of camp behind the nursery. "Go!"

Larktalon was seen nearly streaking into the camp, his whiskers singed. He heard the screeching and bustling of cats in the camp, and his heart nearly exploded from his chest from exhaustion. He began panting as much as he could before smoke would overwhelm the camp. He trotted hurriedly to the medicine cat den, where he found his brother racing to protect his herbs. "Forget the herbs! Would you like to lose your herbs or your fellow Clanmates?" His tail lashed as he turned away and retreated into the nursery to help migrate the kits to the river.

Palepaw flattened his ears at his brother's words. What about the aftermath? What if someone got injured? He ignored Larktalon and began nosing as many herbs as he could onto beech leaves. He buried the rest so they would not be caught by the flames. Scooping up the beech leaves, he struggled to carry it, unbalanced and weak with fear.

"Palepaw!" Rabbitpaw called out as he leaped into the den, dodging the floating ember pieces that were everywhere. The brown tabby came to try help Palepaw, who he'd come to look at as both a hero and a friend. He knew nothing about herbs, but he thought he could at least carry something. "Do you need any help?"

While the pair lingered in the cave, a branch dangled precariously above the Medicine cat den, fires eating away at the meagre fibres that held it aloft.

Fawnspirit nodded at the command. She ran to the apprentice's den and frantically shouted inside over the roar of the flames, trying not to show too much fear.
"Everyone up! We need to leave immediately! If you can't tell there is a fire raging around camp! Breezestar has made a tunnel out of camp! Find him and head towards the river! It's our only chance to escape!"

Stonepaw had come howling out as soon as Fawnspirit yelled into the apprentices den. Firing across camp she soon came to a screeching halt as she turned for the nursery tunnel that was until she had noticed the others in the den, fire or not she was going to wait for the others first! Plopping her butt down after re-positioning herself in the middle of camp to wait for her clannmates the she-cat lifted her head to the air and closing her eyes, trying to pass herself off as fearless. "You all should hurry up! Or we're all going to die!" She warned, holding back the quiver in her voice.

Sorrelkit woke up in the nursery to here a bunch of noise. "what's happening?!" She called. Then she was hearing the noise of the flames that was burning through there territory. She gasped and ran out of the nursery and to the other kits. She waited until the clan was ready to leave and trying to remain calm.

The smell of smoke filled the nostrils of the deputy. Rockfall busted from his nest, strands of moss flying everywhere and dust floating in the air. As he ran out he was only greeted by yowls of terror and the burning flames itself. His mind was shattered, never in his life did he think he would have to face a fire. He had heard a voice before his ears perked up. The kits! Got to rescue the kits! Racing away the grey tom raced towards the nursery blinking when he spotted Sorrelkit. The tom picked up as many kits as he could, before rushing them off towards Stonepaw. "Stonepaw take them too safety then get away from here!" The deputy snapped before racing off again.

"Ah r-right!" Meowed the apprentice, leaning down to snatch the kits and to get through the exit behind the nursery. Ears flat against her head the she-cat made her way outside into the burning forest with a kit or two in her mouth, stumbling forwards the apprentice found herself tripping over a charred piece of wood. Tumbling to the ground the she-cat gave a exasperated huff but at that moment a crack was heard over head and a branch came thundering down, scrabbling forwards the she-cat felt nothing as it hit the ground. Sighing the she-cat was just about to get back up when she felt something tug on her tail and to Stonepaws horror was the burning branch, holding back a screech of terror the young apprentice clenched her teeth around the kittens scruff.

Settling down the kittens the apprentice looked down at them with a choked sob. "G-Go t-to safety w-will you, f-find a warrior to help you... I-I'll be fine." She asked, trying to form a proper sentence as she tried to be brave for the kittens. Looking back at her tail the she-cat wailed in agony and surprise as her tail was burned, broken looking and the fire was slowly swallowing her. "Orcapaw! Rockfall! Anybody!" She cried, desperately trying to pull her tail free, she was even kicking it and twisting awkwardly to dig it out if she could.

"Where we going?" Sorrelkit yelled over the roaring flames. it was hard for the kit not to be scared. Suddenly she gasped as a flaming piece of branch broke off the tree above her. She moved out the way but the branch still got her leg. Sorrelkit yowled in pain as it burned her fur
