Welcome to the Family

She heard the kit gain on her. 'Wow! He's Fast!' Thought Faith. She sped up a little, and turned the corner, the hole in sight. She sped up as fast as she could go and took a gigantic leap, landing right behind it.

Strike charged after. He neared the farm, zooming around it. Just as Faith was about to get there, he tripped and went off flying. "Woah!" He said as if in slow motion, and landed, tumbling right next to Faith as she approached. "Well.. Let's let Moon make it in the whole, that wins.."

Faith panted, "Sure... Moon can win. Nice landing, by the way." She teased.

"Ha ha, very funny." He snorted.

Moon zoomed past and panted, slowing his pace. He trotted back to Faith and Strike. " You okay Strike?" he said then turned to Faith. " your really fast!" he grinned.

"Yup! I'm fine!" Strike announced. He got up and shook his pelt. "Much better. Hey, wasn't I fast, too? I flew because I was going so fast!" He teased.

" Uh huh, it looks like that rock tripped you!" he teased back and pointed his paw to a rock.

She grinned, "Yes, I'm pretty sure you tripped, Strike." She said, "But I guess you were fast, so fast you forgot to watch where you were going."

"Yeah, yeah." He grumbled. "Wait- You do realize that Mufasa needs to know of another kit. He needs to know everything." Strike said sadly.

"I'm not in his group though, my sister is." Mumbled Faith. She had heard a lot about it from Shades, but she never agreed to join, not liking the idea of leaving her home and the freedom she has.

"Look, Faith, I know.." He sighed. "Your going to have to join sooner or later. It's.. Growing. And I fear that anyone who doesn't join will be forced to join... Or be killed. If you don't want to, you have to take refuge in the barn." He sighed once more. He didn't want her to get hurt.

"They can kill me." She muttered, "I'm not joining, I can make sure Moon is safe, and Maybe even Tiger, I can do what I did last time, then they can kill me. I am not of importance..."

"No. You're.. You're the most important thing to me. Don't ever doubt you are of no importance. I.. I love you." He said, and for the first time, licked her cheek.

"I love you, too..." She murmured quietly, then looked down at Moon. She curled her tail around him to keep him warm, "And you... Love makes a family, not blood."

Moon looked back up at the two cats. " Your not going to die... are you?" he asked nervously.
