Aurapaw's first border patrol (The continuation of the first first one that was never finished. XD)

Goldenfeather lashed her tail and turned away. Just go. SHe thought. Just go and stop breaking other cats' hearts.

"Goodbye. . . ." She whispered softly to Aurapaw. She turned tail to the ThunderClan cats, glancing over her shoulder to give Leopardpaw and Goldenfeather a hostile look, before turning back around and sprinting into the trees.

WHen Darkshadow was out of sight, Goldenfeather sighed. "So..."

"I'm sorry," Aurapaw apologized as he turned to his mentor. "I didn't mean for this to happen."

Goldenfeather shrugged. "It happens. Next time, how about we patrol sunningrocks...?"

"Sounds like a good idea," he confirmed, giving Goldenfeather a smile.

"It's just a shame that Darkshadow left, though. I still miss her." She mewed. "It looks like she misses ThunderClan too. If she's going to be loyal to her new Clan, she's going to have to intruding on our patrols. Hey, maybe if we all rest up, we can go on the dusk hunting patrol. Whatd'ya think?"

"I'd like that," he replied. "It might even help me take my mind off of...you know..."

"Yeah, I know." She gave Aurapaw a sympathetic look. Then she smelled the newly caught fresh kill from the fresh kill pile. "Hey, who's up for a meal?" She padded towards a fresh-caught wren.

"Frankly, I think I could use a good night's sleep, if that's alright with you, Goldenfeather," he mewed, respectfully waiting for his mentor's permission.

"Yeah, sure." Goldenfeather nodded. "See you later." She bit into her fresh-kill.

Leopardpaw suddenly charged in, and grabbed part of the wren away. "Was that sneaky enough," she questioned Goldenfeather, waiting for her mentor's responce.

With a bow of appreciation, Aurapaw set off toward the apprentices' den, his body shaking in exhaustion and his mind starving of relaxation.

Goldenfeather purred with amusement. "Leopardpaw the hungry hippo." Then she continued eating ther other half.
