Breaking the News

"Oh, sorry. I'm in a bit of a hurry. I need to fetch Ebonyleaf from the twoleg bridge." He got up and looked at the two apprentices.

Shimmerpaw looked over at Shallowpaw before continuing. "You have to keep this a secret, don't tell anyone...me and Shallowpaw are...mates," she said in a hushed tone. Shimmerpaw was finnaly relieved now that someone else finnaly knew about her and Shallowpaw.

"Oh... Oh... Ohhhhh! Really!?" He yelled and quickly covered his mouth. "That's great news! Promise I won't tell anyone else!" Well... I guess me and Honeywhisker just lost our title as youngest couple in the clan.

Shallowpaw looked at Midnightsky, then back at Shimmerpaw. "Thanks, Midnightsky!" he smiled and shuffled closer to his mate.

"Though... I guess this is a bit sad for some... I mean Amberheart still doesn't have a mate." He said to himself. "Congratulations you two. I expect lots of tiny kits when you two turn into warriors."

Shallowpaw grinned and purred.

Shimmerpaw purred and looked over at Shallowpaw. "Kits eh? I guess I could deal with raising a few kits, what about you? Do you wanna be a daddy?" She asked happily. Shimmerpaw moved closer to Shallowpaw so that they were touching.

Shallowpaw thought about raising kits of their own. "I'd love to be a daddy!" he purred.

"Uhhh.... I said when you two turn into warriors." He said, slightly nervous.

Shallowpaw laughed. "We know!"

Shimmerpaw laughed. "We know, we know! When were warriors."

"Alright, alright... Wasn't I suppose to be doing something important?"

"Umm...something about Ebonyleaf," Shimmerpaw said as she tried to remember.

"Yeah, you were supposed to fetch Ebonyleaf... at the Twolegplace?" he chimed in.

"Oh mouse dung! I was suppose to met her at the bridge!" He bolted into the medicine cat den, called out Cloverpaw and ran out the camp.
 "Thank you!"
