Language is cool

If you could instantly learn one language that is not English, or a language you already know, what would it be?

I myself would choose German. Germany is pretty alright in my lifetime so far and I suppose I'd go to live there if America didn't work out. Plus, I could always go to Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Austria, or Switzerland and be all good in the language department.

Japanese is also something I want to learn. Oh, and Norwegian, Norway is cool! I hate how long it takes to learn a language. ;_;

I know it's cliche and makes me look like a weeb, but Japanese would be cool to learn if I just magically could one day.

If I had to actually sit down and learn a language though, I think I'd pick French or German. Those are practical to learn (spoken widely across all of Europe if I ever wanted to visit) and close enough to English where it won't be as massive of a challenge as something like Chinese.

Deffinatly French. I'm part French so it would be cool to learn. Also I would like to go to Europe. And I thinkfrench just sounds nice. Also like sleepy said, French is used like all around Europe.

Japanese.
I'm going to start learning it next year with online classes ;w;

Can I say American Sign Language? I like how people can translate the lyrics to those rap songs. That'd be cool to learn.

I don't agree with speaking a language that isn't English (it'd be better if every person in the world spoke it and dropped their dumb languages), but if I had to, I'd learn Latin because it's a cool dead language for naming songs strange words that make you seem cool and hip.

I wish someone would say Spanish, so that I could pull the, "I know a decent amount of Spanish" and make them go, "ohmahgawdsostrongsenpai"

Man, you're totally right...

Despite the fact that I think that's really dumb, if there was any move to make a global language, people would probably push Esperanto.

For me, to be honest, yeah, I'm aware that it's a popular choice, but Japanese. It's mainly for the fact that it's a complicated language and looks fun to learn. Moreover, it allows me to watch anime without having to read subtitles to distract me every second. Besides, it's a good language to use to impress others, considering how many different styles the Japanese language uses - Kanji, hiragana, and katakana. There's also the Romanized Japanese, Romaji [doesn't really count, but, moving on].

Though, if not an Asian language, French or Latin would be a good one to learn. Those two just seem interesting to me, and since my mom learned French when she lived in Paris, it'd be nice to know more.

For a language to expand on, Vietnamese. I speak it somewhat fluently, but if I don't know a word, I substitute it for an English one, and it just sounds absolutely silly. cx
