Gingerheart was getting too old for this. Especially what had happened not too long ago with her daughter... having been assigned an apprentice was just too much, but she couldn't not do it. After all, Nightstar had said so. "Mistpaw, let's go. Time for a patrol. I'm not going to wait on you." she said rather coldly before walking back to the clearing, only waiting for a moment to see if the apprentice would actually follow.

Mistpaw bounced out of the camp entrance, incredibly eager to get out into the open. She flinched a little from her mentor's cold voice, but brushed it off quickly. "Yes, Gingerheart!" she said, catching up the older she-cat. "Where are we going first? Will we see the Thunderpath? Or Fourtress?" ______________________________________

Oh great. Too much excitement for Gingerheart's taste. Wow... in sudden retrospect, she was getting old. "too much" this and "too much" that... Taking a deep breath, the senior warrior didn't really turn around when the apprentice followed her on her heels. Instead she just kept walking, out of the camp and into the territory as they made their way to one of the borders. If Mistpaw was so excited to see the Thunderpath, then so be it. "Hold up, now and be patient. You will see all of the borders today. Fourtrees might be a different story. You'll see that when you go to your first Gathering." Gingerheart told her. Yet another border patrol to go on. This wasn't going to be pretty. All Gingerheart could do now was just hope to keep a straight face and make it past all of the borders in one piece. The faster they were done, the faster she didn't have to worry about patrols until she was called on again, which she hoped was soon.

Mistpaw blinked in thought before nodding, "That's on the full moon right? But when do you know the moon is going to be full?" she asked, "Which border will we see first?" ______________________________________

Taking a deep breath to keep herself calm, she tried to answer calmly. "You will know it's a full moon by watching the moon." she looked up to see half of the moon shining down brightly onto the territory. "It grows every night and when the full moon shows, we will have a Gathering. It will then grow dark and then grow again." After she was done explaining, she continued to move until the stank of the Thunderpath grew closer and a lot more concentrated. Not long of smelling it, they broke through the bushes next to the path and stopped at the hard, black ground. "You wanted to see the Thunderpath, so here it is. Be careful, though. Otherwise monsters will get you."

Mistpaw tilted her head, "Why does the moon do that?" she wondered aloud, "Does StarClan make it disappear? Or is just like a giant piece of prey in the sky? Or -" Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted when the sharp stench of the Thunderpath hit her. "Oh, gross." The she-cat went quiet. Wait a heartbeat. She remembered this place, though she wasn't sure how. "The black dirt is hard." She meowed, poking at it with her front toes before twisting her head back at Gingerheart. "It hurts my paws." ______________________________________

| OOC: okay ;u;
Gingerheart agreed. "It is a very strange path. You better watch yourself. You haven't even seen a monster. Get too close to the Thunderpath and you'll be hit. I've already see it happen too many times. I don't need it to happen to someone else, especially an apprentice like you," the warrior warned, although there wasn't a whole lot of emotion or warning in her voice. It was very monotonous, actually. "But while we are here, the Thunderpath is the border between Shadowclan and Thunderclan, if you didn't know that already. And farther down it, it is also the border between us and Windclan. Well, it's one of two borders but we'll see the second one later." |

The small apprentice nodded knowingly, "Sagewhisker told me he died on here once..." As gruesome as it sounded, she couldn't help but say it with a light heart as she poked her head out, looking for any approaching monsters; even as Gingerheart spoke her warnings. She was too curious. "Why do they call it the Thunderpath? When its black like night, shouldn't they call it the Shadowpath?" She wondered aloud, backing up and bounding around Gingerheart, "And how can they have two borders? ... Um - and which way do we go?" ______________________________________

"You will know why it's called the Thunderpath when you see a monster for the first time. It shakes the ground and makes it sound like thunder crashing through the sky. As for the two borders, that will be explained soon." she grumbled as she turned away from the path and began to walk around the border towards Carrionplace. She was going to try to avoid old Skyclan land as long as possible...

Mistpaw tilted her head, nodding in stiff agreement. "That does sound really scary." She mewed, starting to look rather worried, and impatient at the same time. "Where we going now, Gingerheart?" ______________________________________

"Now we are heading to the Carrionplace," she replied as she kept walking away from the Thunderpath. Even though it seemed to take quite a bit of time, they finally reached their destination before Gingerheart stopped just short of the fence that separated the clan territory from the harsh garbage and horrid smell of the Carrionplace. This was always such a painful border to check, but it had to be done. Who knew what kind of rogues live amongst the nastiness? "Here we are," the warrior said plainly. Border checking was never exciting, and after this, there was only one more border they had to check. Maybe she could find some way of getting around it without going straight to it.
