Mintkit flicked her ear in irritation as Mistkit approached her, the pale she-cat seemingly unaffected by Nightstar's presence. Her tail swept across the stone floor as she silently endured her antics, and once Mistkit finished, Mintkit gave her a look of disdain. She was in the mind to refuse her ridiculous request--because that was what it was, really, she thought. Why had Mistkit had to come along, anyway? Mintkit thought the she-cat, as well as almost every kit in the nursery, insufferable. She resisted the urge to snap at Mistkit in front of her leader, no matter how much she wanted to.
Instead she turned to Mistkit. "It's dark," she replied in a loud whisper. "And--and I think I saw a snake in there, too." It was a lie, of course. She had seen nothing in there but stone and gravel, but at least now the cat might discard the notion of exploring altogether and save her the embarrassment.
