Shadepaw, Nightpaw, and Smokepaw's Ceremony

Sagestar was relieved. With three new warriors, then clan was even closer to prosperity. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here under the Jagged Rock for a clan meeting!"

Nightpaw lifted her head from the fresh-kill pile, her eyes shining. This was it; wasn't it? She was going to become a warrior. Pulling herself to her paws she padded forward; her head held high. She couldn't however help but sneak a glance at the apprentice den. Her beloved sister; Darkpaw, she wasn't becoming a warrior with her, was she? She knew that Darkpaw had gotten behide on training; but she never figured she would be gaining her name without her. With a sigh; she sat down as she waited for the rest of the Clan to gather.

Shadepaw followed out and took a seat by Nightpaw. He held his chin high with pride, tail curled around his paws. He glanced over at his friend Nightpaw and smiled. "This is it, isn't it?" He whispered, excitement shimmering in his blue eyes. "We're gonna be Warriors!"

Nightpaw glanced at Shadepaw; a grin appearing on her face as well. "I can't believe we did it; we are going to get our names!" She grew quite as she glanced toward the apprentice den; a small frown taking over her grin. "I always thought I would have Darkpaw next to me thought..."

Smokepaw pushed herself out of the apprentices den, and over to the other apprentices waiting to receive their name. The she-cat decided to stay quite because if she said something she may get to excited.

Sagestar flicked his tail. He noticed there was no need to call the three apprentices to the front, for they had already gathered together there. The leader smirked and started to speak, "Today marks the end of training for three of our apprentices, the day they earn their names." He announced, staying silent for a moment before his gaze traveled to the stars. "I, Sagestar, leader of ShadowClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code and I commend them to you in their turn." His emerald gaze lay on Nightpaw first.
"Nightpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Nightpaw took a small step forward, away from Shadepaw and Smokepaw. She lifted her head, her eyes glimmering as she nodded; her tail flickering. "I do."

Sagestar nodded, "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name." He paused, "From this moment on you will be known as Nightcloud. StarClan honors your determination and patience, and we welcome you as a full member of ShadowClan."  The clan could wait for congratulations until the entire ceremony was done, but he hoped she was pleased with her name.
"Shadepaw, step forward."

Shadepaw smiled happily at Nightcloud, happy for her and a little amused at her excitement. Of course he was excited too, and now it was his turn. Stepping up, he looked proudly at Sagestar, waiting for his part of the naming. What would his name be? Shadefang? Shadefur? The possibilities seemed endless to him at that moment, for this was definitely a moment he wasn't going to forget soon. Though, he mainly thought about what the Warrior's den would look like now that he was bigger.

Sagestar stared down at the excited tom, keeping his voice firm. "Shadepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect your clan, even at the cost of your life?"

The tabby felt ready to leap out of his fur in excitement, though he kept himself firmly still as he forced out the words "I do." Here it comes...His new name!

The leader's mouth curved slightly into a smile, "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Shadepaw, from this moment on you will be known as Shadeclaw. StarClan honors your courage and strength, and we welcome you as a full member of ShadowClan." He let out a subtle purr and nodded to the newly named tom.
After another few moments, his gaze turned to the last she-cat. "Smokepaw, step forward."

Smokepaw looked up at her leader, then stepped forward to receive her warrior name. It was hard for her to contain her excitement. She hoped the name she would receive would suit her. She glanced over to Nightcloud, and Shadeclaw. Their names suit them, so mine most likely would. She thought.

Sagestar took in a deep breath and looked down at the she-cat with a calm expression, "Smokepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect and defend your clan even at the cost of your life?" he meowed.

Smokepaw eyes lit up when she heard the words, "I do." She said calmly looking at her leader.
