Mudpaw's Hunting Patrol

Mudpaw nodded and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath in through his nose. "Oh yeah.. I smell it. Wow. That's awesome! What will we see next?" he asked. His eyes were still shut as he turned to look at Larchcloud. Feeling stupid, he opened his eyes.

Larchcloud just chuckled. "Time to learn one of the most important skills. Hunting." As she lead Mudpaw deep into the forest of Skyclan, she smelled the air. "Newleaf, the best prey season." She murmured. "Well, this is an area that has the most prey. I'll show you how to catch mice." She mewed, as the cat dropped into a hunters crouch. "Stay like this, and be quiet. Mice can be scared easily. I'll show you an example of what it looks like in action." Sniffing the air, she smelled a mouse. Newleaf catch. As she crept forward, she found the mouse in the open. Quietly leaping onto it, she hoped she could get the right spot, and make the kill.

As she missed, and the mouse got away, she hissed. "Mouse dung! Well, now you see what it is like to... miss. But, you can always catch one if you are lucky. Even the best hunters miss sometimes."

Mudpaw looked around and sniffed for a mouse. When he found one, he dropped into a hunting crouch. As quietly as he could, he moved forward and pounced at the mouse.

The member 'Tumbly' has done the following action : Dices roll

'Chance Dice' : 2

Mudpaw missed the mouse and misplaced a paw and tumbled to the ground. "Grrrr," he muttered. "I missed it!"

Larchcloud smiled. "Your first miss always stinks, but you will get it. I smell a squirrel. Watch this." As she went after the squirrel as any other Skyclan cat would, she leaped. Hoping to make the catch.

The member 'Kitty' has done the following action : Dices roll

'Chance Dice' : 3

Larchcloud purred as she had killed the squirrel. "Now, that my friend, is a clean catch." As she put the squirrel somewhere to be collected later, she couldn't help but grin.

Mudpaw nodded and got ready to try again. "I'll get it this time," he muttered, looking around. He spotted another mouse and dropped into the hunting crouch again. He crept toward it slowly. He leaped at it.

The member 'Tumbly' has done the following action : Dices roll

'Chance Dice' : 4

He managed to catch it this time, killing it with a blow to the neck. "YEAH! WOO HOO!" he cheered loudly. "I got it!"

IC: Silentstar jumped out from the bushes, purring, "Good job Mudpaw. You'll be a warrior in no time if you keep that up." Looking at her sister, she remembered, "Ah yes, Larchcloud, I remember what father said about your assessment. You didn't catch that much prey, and it seems you're still having trouble with it." Having a teasing look in her eyes, her tail twitching, "Perhaps I should make you an apprentice again and have some of the more experienced apprentices teach you how to hunt."
