Fern blocked the way to a grassy clearing. It smelled of lilly flowers to Redpaw and brung back memories from the nursery. He nosed his way through the ferns and sat near a small river. The red tom watched butterflies fly past, batting their blue wings. Redpaw smiled and began to bat at it. Rustling behind him cuased him to whip around. Two ghostly foxes floated around him. Redpaw bared his teeth at them and they began to fade. He lashed out his claws at them and they vanished into thin air. Redpaw laughed loudly, something he rarely did. Redpaw started to pad back towards the exit but it seemed to be sealed. He couldn't push through it. It seemed to be one wall of rock now. Amber eyes widening he turned around and uncertianly padded towards the river- except it wasn't there
Redpaw leaped over the muddy line where the water used to flow. "Oh, hi Morningfur!" Redpaw ran towars the medicine cat. Instead of running into her He bowled through her. Mornigfur suddenly began to grow three times the size of a badger. Her fur turned black, her sweet, crisp smell now smelled of blood. Once gentle green eyes were now beady red ones. The once pretty she-cat was now...terrifying. The creature raised a huge paw and slammed it down near Redpaw. He let out a screech and ran towards the stone wall. The beast lumbered towards him. It stood on it hind paws then brung it's front legs crashing down towards the apprentice.
Redpaw had his eyes screwed shut and was prepared for certian doom. But nothing hit him. As he opened his eyes everything was back to a normal clearing. He shoved his way through the ferns and ran as fast as he could, dodging through trees, desperate to get home. He skidded to a halt in the center of camp. Everyone was padding towards him. Their eyes were black, their coats white and drenched with blood. 'Join us. Come and play, Redpaw' the purred in a high-pitched, scratchy voice. Redpaw turned tail and ran. Everything was a blur. This couldn't be real. Frostleap and Morningfur and Reedpaw....They were all safe somewhere. Redpaw blinked back tears. This was a horrible dream. Scary. Horrifying. He looked over his shoulder and the cats were following him. Redpaw picked up his pace, dodging through trees in a hasty attempt to get away. He stumbled into something and rolled over into a ditch. He held his breath and screwed his eyes shut.
