Kitten Play-Time

Her fur ruffled up a bit at the suggestion that she wasn't brave. "Of course I am! If anything, I'll be the one leading you!" She challenged, and as if to underline her words, trotted right out of the Nursery.

Wingedkit followed with a grin. What appeared before her was far beyond her expectations, however. The kit hadn't realized the size of the camp. It was huge! Her eyes trailed around scanning the clearing, her jaw dropped and she let out a whisper, "Wow."

Willowkit kept her eyes closed at first, knowing Wingedkit couldn't see since she was in front. But gradually, she opened and glanced around the clearing, eyes widening. "Its huge..." She breathed, her tail raising high in the air, growing excited. "And to think, someday we'll know everything in it!"

She smiled brightly at Willowkit, "Yes! And some day I will be Wingedstar!" Wingedkit giggled, "And you'll be my deputy!" It didn't take long for her imagination to grab a hold of her and send her on a mission. "All the other clans will fear me!" She bared her tiny teeth, as she pretended to be the leader.

Willowkit turned with a joyful, happy expression. "And I will be equally as fearsome! Everyone else will rue the day they challenge us!" Giggling, she turned and wagged her haunches slightly, growling playfully. "Winner gets to be leader first!"

She crouched down her tail waving in the air, "It's already been decided! I will be the leader!" Wingedkit began to circled around Willowkit, "But I will battle without fear and with confidence that I will succeed. Besides! You're no match for me!"

"Hah! That's what you think. I'll be the best leader there ever was." Willowkit growled as Wingedkit began to stalk around her. And right as the other kitten got in front of her, the she-cat leaped, tackling her friend head-on with a rather squeaky battle cry.

Wingedkit fell limp at the weight of Willowkit came crashing down on top of her. She made an oof noise and scrambled to her paws with a growl, "Have you been sneaking extra prey?" she giggled, "You're heavy!" the squeaky voice finished.

"I'm not nearly half as fat as you are! Maybe your the one who should be laying off on the extra prey." Willowkit replied, wriggling and getting ready to tackle her once more, forgetting completely about the big camp around them.

Wingedkit growled, "No, I'm not!" she wailed. Her voice carried with the wind as she scrabbled to her paws and rushed forward and collapsed herself on Willowkit. "I am your leader! You must obey my commands!" Wingedkit meowed squeakily while trying to sound tough.

She growled as Wingedkit piled on top of her. "Get off you big oaf! Leaders aren't fat, they're strong and muscular and don't collapse on their enemies!" Willowkit growled playfully, managing to wriggle around enough to kick at the other with her hind legs.

"Ow!" she screeched in Willowkit's ears, "Stop that, it hurts!" Wingedkit kicked her hind legs back at Willowkit, "No fair! You're cheating!"

"Your the one cheating!" She growled, finally managing to get into a position where one explosive push from her hide legs shoved Wingedkit off. "Besides, if your leader, you gotta be tougher!"

"I am tough!" She yelled as her body rolled off and landed with a thud on the hard surface. "I'll show you! One day when I really am leader, you'll pay the price then!"

"That'll be the day mice fly like robins!" Willowkit replied sharply, getting confused as to whether Wingedkit was just playing or if she was really serious.
