The Return

Small, cold flakes of white, fell slowly down to the earth. Not all at once. But soon they started to cover everything in white. Snow piled around Mothpaw's body, staining red.

Mothpaw sighed, looking at herself. "I wish I could go crawl back into my body, like nothing had happened." She said.

Featherstar's eye twitched. "Things like that don't usually happen." She lied, pulling Mothpaw away from the scene. "Maybe we should go?" She suggested, her eyes landing on Ebonyroot.

"Fine." Singekit prodded Silentkit, and dragged her sister over to her mother, and together the two picked up their mom and carried her to the medicat den.

Silentkit nodded and as she set her mother down, she looked at her sister. "Should we go to the nursery? It's been a long day."

"Yeah. I've had enough acting tough, i just want to go 'die' in my bed."

"Is Badgerfang going to be okay?" She whispered to Sparrowflight. She didn't want the kits to hear.

Silentkit blinked, and padded up to her sister. "Come on, everything is going to be ok!" she mewed as she turned around and padded out of the medicine cat den, pasting Hopeclaw, Moonfrost, and Sparrowflight, and went into the nursery. As she laid down in her nest, she just hoped one thing; that Badgerfang would be ok.

"Perhaps we should." Ebonyroot nodded, looking to Mothpaw. "Are you ready to go?" she asked, wanting to make sure all final goodbyes were dealt with.

Sparrowflight finished washing all the blood off of Mothpaw and laid beside her sister, digging her face into the golden fur. "I don't know... she's in StarClan's paws." Sparrowflight choked out.

Mothpaw looked at her kin, and quickly lept towards Sparrowflight. "I will miss you deeply, sister." She said, her voice and icy chill in Sparrow's ear. She returned to her great-grandmother, Featherstar, and her mother, Ebonyroot. "Let's go." She said shortly, following behind the striped lleader, and the calico medicine cat who shared her eyes.
