Le Foreign Kitty

"No going outside today, Ishu."
The twoleg walked away, into the kitchen. The cat growled, and stared outside into the blizzard. He'd not understood what his owner had said, but he knew the tone. The snow was no different from the snow back at his old home, but ever since he'd moved here, he'd felt a longing to explore.. To see something beyond the safety of the backyard fence.. To find adventure. "I'm not kitten anymore.." he sighed to himself, fluffy tail tapping noisily against the ground.

Minutes passed, and Ishuzatz began to grow bored of watching endless flakes fall. Slowly, an idea formed in his head. I'll escape.. for little while, at least.. but I'll escape. So, he stood up, and launched himself onto the window sill. Having watched his housefolk do it many times over, he grabbed the latch in his teeth and tugged at it. After a minute or so of trial and error, he felt it squeak open, and he plunged outside. The snow was cold, but it wasn't a bother to him.

It wasn't long before he realized that he was at a river. Sniffing it, he saw a fish dart around beneath the ice. What is that? he wondered, having not see one before.
Little did Ishuzatz know, he was trespassing.

Badgerfang was padded toward the river to see if she could get a fish, even if the river was frozen, when she picked up a new smell. "Kitty-pet..." she growled as she moved toward the river. Soon, she was hidden in a bush right behide the small cat. "A kit?" she whispered as she pulled herself out of the bush, not minding as the snow on the bush fell onto her back. "You shouldn't be here."

Moonfrost, who had separated herself from a hunting patrol, heard Badgerfang's last sentence. She padded to the clearing, and seeing the tom, narrowed her eyes. " She's right." The deputy meowed. " You shouldn't." She growled.

Ishuzatz blinked. "A kit? Well, I'll have you know I'm not in fact kit, I'm six moons old." His oddly-accented tone was in no way threatening, or scared, for that matter. His tilted his head, tail creating a tiny disruption in the snow behind him. "Why can't I be here, exactly? Am I harming anything or anyone?"

Badgerfang blinked, her fur fluffed up in the cold. This tom was very brave. "You are on RiverClan territory. We don't allow most outsiders in our territory."

Ishuzatz narrowed his eyes. "RiverClan.. I've never heard of such a thing."

Moonfrost flicked her tail in annoyance. " There are four clans in this forest, kittypet. They each have a territory where they hunt their prey on and live. You are on RiverClan territory. Now, I advise you to leave." She meowed calmly gazing at the young tom.

Cherrypaw had been going for walk nearby, and heard the commotion. "Moonfrost?" she asked, looking at the foreign cat curiously as she came up alongside her mentor. "Who is this?"

The tom flattened his ears, and began to walk away. "Okay, but I was just exploring.." A cold wind blew, and Ishuzatz glanced around. Now, where was home?
A sudden sense of fear crept over him. Where is home? Trudging onward, he fluffed up against the cold.

Moonfrost ignored Cherrypaw's question, not knowing the answer. She sighed. " You're lost aren't you, kittypet?" She asked, fluffing up her fur.

The cat frowned. "I'm not lost," he growled. "And do not call me that.. Kittypet. I'm Ishuzatz, not kittypet."

Moonfrost twitched her whiskers. " Ishuzatz? Fine, if you prefer... Are you sure you aren't lost?" She asked one more time, trying to help the kitty, er, Ishuzatz.

"I'm fine, thanks," he replied curtly, grinning. "But thank you for your offer. I'll keep this.. RiverClan on my good terms." He kept walking, now out of sight.

Badgerfang blinked as Ishuzatz padded out of sight and into the deep snow. She looked at her mentor, then padded after him. "Wait! Maybe you could stay with us? Just until you find your way home?" she yowled into the snowy air, hoping that Ishuzatz could hear her.

Cherrypaw looked questionably at Badgerfang. Was she out of her mind? Sure, RiverClan brought in other cats on a regular basis, but they weren't kittypets. They were either rogues, or tiny kits who had been abandoned or lost. This cat was neither.
