Hangin' out

Snakebite awoke with a start. He had been having bad dreams for the past few moons but decided they were only figments. He stood up on wobbly legs and took sleep-filled pawsteps out of the den. He yawned and started to walk away from the den. The tom thought he was going towards the fresh-kill pile but found out he wasn't when he crashed into skyrock. He sighed and turned the other way.

Heartsong heard a loud themp and woke with a start she hurried out of the den and hissed "Whos there!"

"Snakebite is." Stripedspine snapped. Since Moonpaw left, he'd been snappy, just like a girl.

Snakebite meowed a sorry, but not before stumbling over a tree branch. He wouldn't lift his head to look at anyone else.

The colorful warrior sighed. "As long as I'm awake 'might as well eat!" he groaned.

"Lift your head up!!" she grumbled "No one cansleep with all your thumping around! Now what was your nightmare about?"

Snakebite turned his head to the side instead,"Nothin' important",he mumbled.

"Answer me and I'll help!" She hissed cuffing his ear

Snakebite flattened his ears and looked up at the leader with his purple eye glazed blue. The tom knew that the inevitable had happened: Snakebite was blind.

"What happened this time?" he grouched.

She looked at his eye carefully and licked his ear comfortingly "I know the feeling."

The tom sighed,"I'm not much use now, my sight was the only sense I could use".

"I'm half blind, and my mum was completly blind." he meowed. "But we got along just fine."

"Nows not the time to pester him!' She hissed "You back to bed!" she flicked her tail at stripedspine and turned to snakebite "And you come with me she said padding up to the top of the highrock.

The tom shook his head," I cannot hunt without my sight, instead of my other senses being hightened they just dull out". Snakebite cocked his head and followed her.
