Finding Sunkit

A small black kit with a white-yellow splotch on his chest writhed around, mewling. His tiny mouth opened and he let out a wail. Where was the warm, milk smelling cat that he'd been curled up next to earlier? He felt so cold and alone now. He shuddered as a cold wind blew through his fur. Come back! he thought pitifully, letting out another mewl.

Sootplet mewed "Where is that yowl comeing from?" She asked herself then she spotted the kit "Who are you? and what are you doing out here in the cold?" She asked

He laid there in the earth and ferns and grass, confused at this voice. He wiggled about, trying to flip onto his stomach again.

ooc: He hasn't opened his eyes yet.

She flipped the kit over helping it to its feet. "Huh what am I going to do about you?" She mewed.

He immediately stumbled and fell down again, tiny newborn face hitting the ground. He let out a shrill cry, sounding miserable.

Sootplet laid down next to the kit and yowled "Hey Story come over here!" She started to lick the kit to warm it up.

He mewled, trying to lift his tiny head.

Story hear Sootpelt's cry and came rushing over, "What's wr-",he looked down at the kit. "It looks like..", he got quiet again. He may have known who was the mother of this kit but he did not say it. "What should we do with him"?

"I think I going to take him to Skyclan, But he was just born. He hasn't even opened his eyes yet." She mewed then thought. "I going to be his mother. I am going to take care of him."

Sunkit let out a loud cry, tiny paws flailing. He was hungry and cold and confused.

Story purred and licked his mate's cheek, "In SkyClan he will have a better life". With these words he remembered when he was apprentice age and how he took Snakefire to SkyClan.

He snuggled closer to Sootpelt, trying to get warm.

Sootpelt licked the kit to warm it up to its warmest. "I will take it to Skyclan in the morning because this little kit has been through a lot it looks like." She mewed to story.

He buried his face in Sootpelt's fur and began kneading his paws.

She kept licking the kit. So this is what it feels like to be a mother. She thought.
