A Cold Winter

Hawkpath went to explore her territory in the snow, to see what it looked like. She hoped through the snow, leaving pawprints behind her. She got to the river, which was now a big sheet of ice. She could see through it, she saw some fish under it. She put a paw on the ice. It was slippery. She went onto the ice and slid around. but then, she got to a thin peice and broke through the ice! She yowled as the ice cold water hit her body. "HELP!" She yowled.

Firefly had been out hunting for the first time after having her kits. Her ears pricked at the sound of yelling, and chose to walk towards it. When she got there, she saw Hawkpath.

"FIREFLY! HELP ME!" Hawkpaw yowled, scared and freezing.

Scrambling forwar, Firefly grabbed the scruff of Hawkpath's neck and dragged over the ThunderClan border. "Taking a swim, are we?"

"S-s-s-s-so cold-d-d...." She whispered. "N-never been t-t-this c-cold bef-f-fore...." Her nose was turning blue.

Firefly had no clue what to do. "Um...should I take you back to camp, or something?"

"Take me back to RiverClan, Mistyriver might know what t-t-to do..."

Sleepyyawn rushed out across the border up to Hawkpath. "Hawkpath! What happened?" He began to lick her sodden coat down frantically.

"S-S-Sleepyyawn... Bring me to camp!" She meowed.

"Help me get her off the ground!" He barked at Firefly. He grabbed Hawkpawth's scruff.

Firefly nudged Hawkfrost up, and allowed her to lean on her shoulder.

Hawkpath felt weak, and leaned on Firefly. "Thanks" She mewed.

They arrived at the camp, and he rushed into the medicine cat den. "Mistyriver! Help, Hawkpath fell in the river!"

Hawkpath's nose was blue. She shivered violently. "S-S-Should've nev-v-er exp-plored-d the r-r-river. I'm s-s-so mous-s-se brained-d-d..."
