The air around skyclan camp carried with it the sharp distinct smell of blood. The scent was unmistakably strong and worryingly close. At this moment, cats scrambled to defensive posts. Worried queens called for their kits ushering them inside with a sense of urgency.
Moments later heavy paw steps were thudding into camp. Stormwatcher the massive warrior came limping into camp a deep cut on his front paw forcing most his weight to his other three paws, in addition to this, he was also slowed by the unconscious warrior he carried on his back.
Stormwatcher half an hour earlier had been sent out on patrol with Beetlesting (npc). The pair of them had been ambushed by a fox that had dealt heavy damage to Beetlesting and had wounded Stormwatcher before he could fully chase it off. He had not been able to give any chase to the fox in his current condition and had instead carried back his patrolmate while he still had the option to do so.
"that was too close" he muttered under his breath, panting as he stood there glancing around.
"Hollypaw!?" he meowed out
He hobbled towards Holly's den and set Beetlesting down their clanmate was not breathing and blood soaked Beetle's pelt thoroughly. Stormwatcher let out a defeated breath... his clanmate was dying or already was dead, he looked ahead in a daze.
For all his outward appearence about not caring too much. He deep down really did care very much for all his clanmates.
"Is he? his voice trailed off as he asked Hollypaw

Hollypaw saw Stormwatcher carrying Beetlesting into the medicine den. The ginger tom grabbed cobwebs and moss, bringing them towards the two warriors. "I'm here," he said, preparing to help them. Putting the moss on Beetlesting's bloody pelt, the ginger tom let it soak up as much blood as possible before looking at the wound. Stars, he was bleeding a lot still.
"Is he what?" he asked back, tilting his head. It probably wasn't worth thinking about right now, with Beetlesting's life in danger. Taking the blood-soaked moss off of the tom's pelt, Hollypaw bandaged it up with the cobwebs before pressing his paw on his chest.
Which was when he realized Beetlesting's chest was not rising or falling.
He had seen this before, when Wolfstar lost a life in front of him. And unlike the SkyClan leader, Beetlesting didn't have multiple lives. "I'm sorry," he said, "but Beetlesting's in StarClan now." His apology was twofold - first, that there was nothing that he could do to save Beetlesting, and second, that he had to bring up StarClan to the most anti-stars cat Hollypaw knew. He couldn't say that Beetlesting was going to the Dark Forest, and straight-up saying that he was dead felt weird.
Eying Stormwatcher's wound, he turned away to grab marigold from the den and treat the brown tom's wound.

The scent of blood had alerted Wolfstar to the fact that something was wrong, and the sight of Stormwatcher half-carrying, half-dragging one of the warriors into camp and calling for Hollypaw only confirmed it. Rising to her paws, the leader moved quietly toward the medicine den, ears flat.
"Stars, what happened?" She had enough experience to keep her voice steady, though another dead warrior made her stomach twist. Beetlesting... And Stormwatcher was injured.
"Do you need me to do anything, Hollypaw?" Wolfstar would do her best to remain as unobtrusive as she could, not wanting to crowd the injured warrior or get in Hollypaw's way, but she would still offer help if she could.

Stormwatcher's ears heated and flicked back looking down at his fallen comrade. He barely registered the words from the med cat but they did register.
He narrowed his eyes but said nothing for the moment. He put a careful paw over his friend and shook his head a bit.
"There are no stars Hollypaw he meowed sounding defeated.
"he is gone. Please... please don't mention the stars or where you think he now walks he meowed stiffly barely keeping things together his pelt was bristled with nerves over barely escaping the situation and the stars talk was not easing his mind at all.
