One particularly common sight just outside SkyClan's camp was Lightningbreeze, who could be found at all hours with energy to burn. In the twilight hours, when the moon began to climb into the sky and the majority of SkyClan settled in to rest, she often found herself restless.
Rather than be lectured for disrupting the sleep of her Clanmates, she tended to head past the camp entrance. On this particular evening, when it wasn't so late that anyone questioned her heading out but late enough that company was scarce, she found herself going a little further than she typically tended to; leaping from branch to branch until she found herself amidst the Great Ridge.
Jumping down with the ease of a cat who spent most of her time in the trees, she landed with her usual level of grace.
"Oof!"
It wasn't painful, at least.
She ran a few laps around the tree she'd just jumped out of, then to one of the more distant ones still clearly in her line of sight.
"I wonder if there's any way to go faster... Well, the feathers didn't work out, so I'd need something different," she mused out loud, flopping onto a pile of fallen leaves with a satisfying crunch.

Waspswarm did not realize she had a companion to match her energy. With her patrol stacked up so much during the day today, the warrior had to switch her routine to night. With a sight to behold, when Waspswarm caught sight of the other warrior training she climbed higher to watch. Finally she ended and Waspswarm quietly made her way to a branch above the pile of leaves the other warrior sat on.
"Did you really attach feathers to yourself?' Waspswarm called out suddenly and peered below her, a bemused expression on her face. "For cats that would only cause wind resistance."

"Oh, she didn't just try that," came a voice - a tinge of annoyance at the memory but still dull of emotions as Creamsky arrived. He had been out hunting - anything to keep his paws active and free from considering his thoughts. The last few moons had not been easy on him, his heart only growing more jaded as the Clan continued to feel empty without his two of his closest friends. It was even worse than what had happened with his mother - Rainfrost and Crookedlight had left with no plan to return, with no words of goodbye. Hope that they would reconsider was long faded and it had caused Creamsky to be filled with doubt - Lightningbreeze had proven herself a hard cat to pin down, carried by her whims. How long was it until she left the Clan for one reason or another?
But yet... Here he was - drawn from his duty by the sound of her voice, but his expression was ridged as he showed no hints of being excited to see her. No, there was only annoyance, as forced as it was. He would keep her at tail-length to protect himself - he wouldn't hold onto hope that she wouldn't leave him like the rest. Everybody left him in the end... It wasn't that hard to pretend to be annoyed or tired of her - as much as he loved her energy, it had gotten the two of them into trouble and he could pull from that. "At one point she had the brilliant idea of fighting an eagle itself for the feathers - she was lucky she didn't get dragged away by it."

Lightningbreeze laughed, bright and cheery as Waspswarm joined her; face faltering for a moment when Creamsky appeared, but a soft smile swiftly replacing the brief expression of hurt. "I had a whole theory! Had to test it out. Now I know it doesn't work, so I can think of something else until I find something that does."
A mrrow of amusement escaped her. "It was never all that dangerous, anyway. When we fight together, we'll always win." Once upon a time she would have let the words speak for themselves, to a bond that was in her eyes unbreakable; but once upon a time Creamsky hadn't seemed to put most of his effort into avoiding her. Even now, he didn't seem happy; what had happened to her best and oldest friend? So she continued, for Waspswarm's sake. "That's what Clanmates are for, isn't it? We look out for each other. Besides, you should've seen Rainfrost's face when I had him help while I got the honey!"
She rolled onto her back, looking up at the sky. "Everyone has something they like, right? I like running. Racing the wind, and anyone around, and myself. I want to be the best, so that means I've always got something to aim for. And I won't give up 'til I reach that goal!" She paused, letting out another laugh. "Or after, probably. Feathers or no feathers."
