Does the Pact Still Stand

The days had come and gone since Hickorysmoke’s cousin, Firepaw now Firetreader, had burst into the apprentice den and spewed out his disliking of starclan. The tom had gained the favor of Hickorysmoke with just a few simple words. The tom didn’t like his cousin to begin with and he still found him to be mostly mouse-brained, but he had some respect for him now. So, when he saw the rebellious little leader leaving camp, he figured he’d follow.

Hickorysmoke followed him nearly to the great ridge before speaking. He wasn’t sure if the older tom knew he was there or not, but he hadn’t tried to hide the fact he was there. “Firetreader huh? Nice name.” Hickorysmoke mewed as he leapt onto a large rock and laid down. He rasped his tongue over his paws and then across his leg. The dang thing was starting to ache from how much he was pushing himself.
