Sunpool
And I will wait for the sun to rise...
Greenleaf was over, and leaf-fall had begun. Sunpool did enjoy greenleaf to some extent, but the heat was often overwhelming, and leaf-fall brought with it cooling breezes and the promise of change. His lungs sting pleasantly with the growing chill when he breathes in deep enough, but it was still just warm enough that swimming is still enjoyable. A compromise between the oppressive heat of greenleaf and the crushing cold of leafbare.
And Sunpool was in an especially good mood today, particularly right now, because he’s spent the better part of the afternoon with one of his favorite cats in the whole wide world, Willowwisp. After finishing up a patrol, both of them had few duties to complete left for the day, and so Sunpool suggested relaxing a little at the nearby Sunningrocks before going back to camp. There was still a good bit of sunlight left in the day, and Sunpool wanted to relish in it. Besides, any chance he had to see Willowwisp relaxed and happy, he would take with both paws.
“Ahh, that feels so nice,” Sunpool purred as he stretched out over the warm, flat rocks, rolling contentedly onto his side and resting his chin on his paws so he could easily see Willowwisp. He liked watching her whenever they were together. Her silvery-blue fur is so mesmerizing, and she looks so pretty in the late afternoon sun. “Have you had a good day, Willow?” He asked softer, giving her a little smile. He hoped so. Willow deserved nothing but good days, especially after all she’s gone through in recent moons.
