Nights had grown a little bit cooler recently, but were no less humid. Still, there was hunting to do and Briarpatch was always happy to follow a patrol out into the marshes. A soft noise made her stop whatever she'd been saying to one of her patrolmates, breaking away and heading toward the source on silent paws. Lizard, she realized... Not her favorite, but someone at camp would eat it.
The young warrior slowly stalked toward the lizard, gaze intently focused on the critter as she crept toward it. With one leap, Briarpatch had quickly dispatched her target and returned to her patrolmates with a satisfied smile.
Briarpatch attempts to catch a lizard for -2 ep. Catch successful.

Smokeytimber was always happy to pad alongside his sister, particularly when he could also make himself useful to his Clan. Patrolling with his kin was a rare treat, and he wouldn't let the chance slip from his paws. Hopefully, no mousebrained owls bother us this time. If something leapt out at them, that would just prove that he was cursed. Or that they were both cursed.
Just as he parted his jaws, Briarpatch took off after something, and he smiled softly. His smile grew as a familiar scent bathed his tongue, though - mouse! His favorite! Yes, he'd been hunting mice when he and Briarpatch had been plagued by that stupid owl, and even back when he and Sunflare had faced that fox - but he was determined this time would be different. This time, he'd actually end up bringing a mouse home, and not stupid owl feathers (although they were remarkably soft, and he couldn't imagine ever going back to sleeping on plain old moss).
He stalked it carefully, the faint scent of its rustling in the undergrowth leading him just a short distance from the rest of the patrol. As he neared, its rustling grew louder - but it didn't seem to notice him. Despite his size, he moved as silent as shadow, and he was on it in no time. With one swift bite, he made the kill, then grabbed its tail between his teeth. "Aha! Finally!" Maybe hunting didn't have to be a pain in the rear all the time.

"Nice catch!" Briarpatch grinned at her brother's triumphant mew. Stars, it was nice to hunt in peace for once. And to patrol with any of her family was always a treat.
"How've you been, lately? Fought anymore owls?" She asked, whiskers twitching... Then pausing, head turning as her ears caught a soft scuffling noise nearby.
Vole. Carefully, Briarpatch stalked forward. Her paws landed on the creature and it was dispatched with ease. "Ha, this might be a new record." She turned toward her brother, only half-joking.
Briarpatch attempted to catch a vole for -2 ep. Catch successful.
