Another walk to Moonstone and another one of Nectarflower's kits to drag along with him. Suffice to say, Hemlockfox wasn't thrilled. This time, at least, it would be an easy journey. Sunpaw seemed plain enough, thankfully, so he doubted there would be much conversation between them on the way either. With a grunt, the fluffy medicine cat got to his paws and strode across the camp, blue eyes scanning for Sunpaw's familiar pelt. It only took a few moments to find her, though, and he approached with just a small mouthful of herbs which he was quick to lay out before her.
"Sunpaw." He greeted cooly, "I hope you're not too tired from your duties, I'm to take you to the Moonstone tonight." It was a trip every apprentice went on and he doubted the black and gold apprentice was too shocked by his announcement. It was, frankly, a smidge overdue anyway. "Eat those and we'll be on our way." When the she-cat swallowed the last herb, Hemlockfox flicked his tail for her to follow him and swiftly led the way out of the camp.

Hemlockfox treaded carefully down the tunnel, whiskers twitching as they brushed against the cold, stone walls. His paws fell easily into the smooth divots in the ground where generations of cats had walked before him and smiled. If nothing else, he could enjoy the simple familiarity of this silent, isolated path. "Almost there now." His voice bounced off of the walls and, true enough to his word, the tunnel, suddenly bathed in a blue glow, began to open up. The Moonstone glittered brightly in the light of the overhead moon and Hemlockfox confidently approached it.
"Simply lie down here," He gestured to a cozy dip in the ground with his tail, then continued. "Close your eyes and touch your nose to the Moonstone. StarClan will come to you, in time, and share whatever knowledge you most need." Ideally, anyway. There really was no telling with those starry-furred strangers in the sky, sometimes.
"I'm never tired." Sunpaw meowed simply, neither protest nor pep in her voice. She wasn't exactly looking forward to her Moonstone journey - as much as her Clan seemed faithful, she had always thought of her ancestors as boring and plain - so when Hemlockfox came to retrieve her, she couldn't help but flick her tail in annoyance. It couldn't be so bad, right? Worst case scenario, she'd get to take a nice nap. And maybe StarClan would surprise her with something interesting to say. She'd never had to interact with them before, but she found it hard to keep an open mind most of the time.
The burly medicine cat seemed stiff. Maybe just as thrilled as she was for the journey. She flicked her ears wordlessly and lapped up the bitter, pungent herbs. Don't make a face.Don't make a face. Her lip curled, just slightly, but she wiped her mouth with one paw and prayed he didn't notice. Best not to look immature in front of the important cats.
The journey went quickly. She wasn't in the mood to talk, and she knew Hemlockfox was never in the mood to talk. As she padded down the narrow, winding tunnel just behind him, she was shocked at the soft blue light that began to emanate from within. Was this what all the hype was about? The most she'd ever cared about the Moonstone itself was the fact that she could tease her sister about her warrior name someday possibly being Moonstone.
The tortoiseshell molly settled in to the spot he'd gestured to. It was well worn from the countless cats who had laid here before her. The thought freaked her out a little bit. She wouldn't think about it... the seasons and seasons of cats who had touched this stone before her, the way they had all grown old and died, or perished in the midst of battle, leaving only their legacies behind until one day, someone like her came along, who had never heard their names...
No, she wouldn't think about it. Sunpaw shook her head, as though to clear her thoughts, then pressed her nose gently to the glimmering stone. It was cold to the touch, but not unpleasant. Within moments, she found herself sinking into a deep sleep, a hazy dreamland surrounding her.

Reality blurred, threading itself seamlessly with the starlit mists of her dreams. Before long the floating sensation of sleep gave way to the feeling of cool, crisp grass beneath her. The moment she opened her eyes, Sunpaw saw her. Standing before her was a hulking, battle-scarred molly looking down at her with a pair of mismatched green eyes that radiated with an indescribable intensity.
"Morning, rabbit. Name's Thornstar."
Thornstar looked her up and down for a moment before turning and beginning to pad away, long heavy tail gesturing for the soon to be warrior to walk with her.
Sunpaw let out a small gasp as the starry she-cat came into focus before her. She looked... totally awesome! Sunpaw immediately wanted to ask her about each and every one of her scars, but something in Thornstar's gaze told her it might not be the time nor place. The black and gold molly just nodded instead, and instantly followed after the brutish she-cat, keeping up with her easily. It was a bit funny to be called a rabbit - Sunpaw was probably anything but. More like some mouse.
"Where are we going?" She asked softly, her gaze gleaming with interest as she looked around the starry moor. It looked just like home, but tinted blue and glowing, with a gentle mist floating over the land. The grass was cool, and so was the breeze that hung over the land. It was such a drastic difference from the harsh heat of the waking world that it gave Sunpaw pause. StarClan is kinda cooler than I expected.
