Misty Mornings [C]

Creamsky's gaze was fixed upwards, eyes squinted as he watched the leaves shiver despite the warm air, letting glimpses of the sunlight filter onto the forest floor around him and dappling his otherwise rather plain pelt. His paws ached at the fact that he was sitting still, desperate to be moving - to keep himself busy so he wouldn't consider the thoughts that preyed on the corner of his mind but he was left waiting for Mistypaw. Not that she was late - she still had plenty of time to arrive, but more that he had nothing else to do to pass the time until their training session. It was so much easier to throw himself into hunting and patrolling when he was free, not trapped by the mantle of being a mentor but he also knew he had to accept this. Besides, if he put all of his focus onto this, the sooner Mistypaw would be a warrior and he would be free to be on his lonesome once more.

Thankfully for her mentor’s thinning patience, Mistypaw was more than enthusiastic to get started. She bounded up to him, coat still nest-mussed and tail held high. “Ooh, this is so cool! What are we gonna do first?” she eagerly mewed. “I wanna learn everything!”

Creamsky glanced over at Mistypaw as she arrived, simply giving a curt nod as he rose to his paws. Her excitability was noted, swishing his tail a signal for her to follow as he led her from the camp. "Glad to hear that," he meowed, thought his tone was flat as it was hard to gather the energy to even sound eager. This was a job, nothing more. "Having considered our options, I have decided we are starting the day off with battle training - the knowledge to protect yourself is always important. Then, if we wrap that up with time to spare, perhaps the basic of hunting and tree climbing," he explained, coming to a stop as he turned to look at her.

"We'll start with a spar - you come at me with whatever you have, then we will see where we need to focus our training from there. Take your time, consider your choices - then take a swing when you are ready to begin."

Mistypaw had no grasp of the concept of taking her time. She immediately flung herself at her mentor, grabbing on with all her might (no claws, of course).

Mistypaw used Leap and Hold, dealing 5 damage and costing 15 EP. Creamsky is pinned for 2 turns.
