Lighttail felt a little awkward still around SkyClan cats she didn’t know, but she certainly knew Foxpaw! The young tom was a good friend of two of her kits. They seemed to get into a lot of mischief together, but thus far it was just kitten pranks.
“Hey Foxpaw, wanna spar? I’ll go easy on you!” This isn’t weird, is it?

Foxpaw blinked and tilted his head when Lighttail approached him. If it’d been any other warrior, he would have felt flushed with apprehension at the request, an itch to prove himself through the fight--but it was only Lighttail. She was a familiar presence from the nursery, and even as an apprentice, she remained near to his circle as the mother of two of his best friends. Foxpaw was eager to agree, but his nose wrinkled a little bit with her caveat.
”Don’t you dare!” He puffed. ”I want an honest fight. I can take you!” With a pointed sniff, he rolled onto his paws and sank low into his weight. ”’Cause I’m definitely not gonna take it easy on you.” Then he darted forward, delivering a solid smack to Lighttail’s flank as he slid past her, laughing.
Foxpaw used Smack, dealing 4 damage and costing 5 EP.
Fluffy tail twitching with amusement, Lighttail took a defensive stance. “All right,” she mewed, “but don’t say I didn’t warn you!” As Foxpaw ran past her, she threw herself under his paws and flipped, grabbing at him from below.
Rolling for Belly Rake… Success! 16 damage, 10 EP.

A yelp of alarm and half-pain left Foxpaw as Lighttail slid under him, paws gripping for his sensitive belly. That- that hurt! And it knocked the wind out of him--hard, too. Foxpaw scrambled away from Lighttail on shivering paws. This wasn't how he expected today to go. His mouth opened to protest before clamping shut again. Well, he was the one that asked for a good, honest fight, wasn’t he? And besides, he didn’t want to look like a kit in front of Lighttail. He was an apprentice now--big and strong and capable of taking any blow she dealt him!
Once he gathered himself from his wheezing, Foxpaw threw himself forward again. This time, he latched his teeth onto the back of Lighttail’s neck, and bit as hard as he could without worrying he would actually hurt her.
Foxpaw used Bite and Hold, dealing 6 damage and costing 15 EP. Lighttail is held for 2 turns.
