Pigeonpounce had made visiting the nursery a part of her routine shortly after becoming more accustomed to her role as the Clan’s medicine cat. Usually, the trips were short, and for formality more than anything; Clovermottle wasn’t with kits, and she had few concerns, but it was still good to make sure the nursery was doing well.

Then there was the addition of Murkyriver.

Pigeonpounce was happy for her and Dovetail, of course, but her surprise over the kits’ appearance had yet to really wear off. It didn’t help that she didn’t really know how to talk to the former ThunderClanner. The last time she tried… their circular discussion about Scarletflare and Dovetail made her snort to recall. Pigeonpounce supposed she’d just have to get used to it and figure out how Murkyriver worked over the next few moons.

With Oleanderpaw at her side, Pigeonpounce approached the nursery. She tapped a paw against the den wall before poking her head inside. Ah--it seemed Murkyriver was out for the moment. Her earlier concerns about the dark-pelted queen fluttered away. But at least one of the queens was present, along with the newest litter. They looked to be sleeping at the moment. Pigeonpounce flashed Clovermottle a smile and said, ”Hiya, Clovermottle. How’re ya doin’ t’day? Y’need anythin’ from us?”
