They'd set out in the early afternoon. Oatfluff knew it could be an adjustment - apprentices never wanted to wake up before sunhigh, anyway, and he thought Redpaw deserved to sleep in after her ceremony. It'd been a big day, after all. But now, as the pair padded along the sprawling moorland, Oatfluff wondered where to start. Every young cat wanted to learn how to fight first, but he wasn't sure that was the best idea. They should start slow, with the basics.

"Alright, Redpaw," He meowed, slowing to a stop. This was as good a place to hunt as any - plenty of burrows dotted the land, and he thought he could hear a few mice nearby. But they'd start small. "We're hunting today! It's one of my favorite parts of being a warrior - it might not be as glamorous as battling, sure, but feeding your Clan is very important." The stout warrior looked Redpaw over - she had her father's physique, and could probably chase a rabbit down pretty easily. "Okay. Let me see your best hunter's crouch, and we can go from there." Oatfluff face brightened in what he hoped was an encouraging smile. His voice was warm - even if Redpaw was nervous about her first training session, he wanted to show her that everything was okay.
