Sageroot padded through the territory to the training hollow, apprentice in tow. “So Lakepaw,” she mewed as they reached the sandy place. “Fighting, which we always hope not to do for real, is done with three tools: teeth, claws, and your own weight. Do you have any ideas for how to use those three things?”

"Of course." He answered simpily. His mother and father made a special effort to teach him and his littermates early, having battle training since he could walk. "Not now, but if you were right about me eventually being as big or bigger than Wiggleworm, I'd wager my weight is my best asset. Or...will be." He shifted his paws. He had grown slightly but was still getting used to his body. He knew most of the theory behind the battle. But executing those theories in battle? Well. That was for cats who could walk without the ground rushing up to meet them. "But claws and teeth aren't to be overlooked." He recited, remembering the many lessons.

Sageroot nodded. “Very good. Let’s try a practice spar. We’ll keep our claws sheathed for now, although at some point you might want to practice some moves with claws on a tree or something like that. Ready?”

Sageroot rushed forward, landing a (relatively) gentle swat on the apprentice’s shoulder.

Sageroot used Smack, dealing 7 damage and costing 5 EP.

Note: Not sure how Disabled Stats work with the new system, so Sageroot will have Tier 3 stats while dealing Tier 4 damage to account for her lack of spatial awareness.
