Larkshine Tier 3 Warrior | Shadowclan | She/Her
Larkshine shook out her pelt and motioned her apprentice to follow her with a flick of her tail. They weren’t far from camp, and she lightly trotted back until they got close to the entrance. A quick glace over her shoulder confirmed Briarpaw was still behind her, and she gave the little calico a smile before walking over to the fresh kill pile.
The pile seemed smaller than usual, and the young warrior let out a huff. Maybe they should’ve gone hunting today. She grabbed a rabbit and turned to the small cat behind her, “Should we share this? I’m not terribly hungry today.” Larkshine mewed as well as she could with the rabbit dangling from her jaws. Surely the rabbit was enough to feed the two of them she thought. Briarpaw trotted beside Larkshine as they made their way back toward camp. She'd burned off some of her energy in that spar for sure, and while she was greener than she would have liked to be, Briarpaw wasn't too disappointed. It had been her first spar, after all, and she'd at least made contact with her mentor once rather than making a complete fool of herself. And Larkshine didn't seemed disappointed in her, so she would consider that a win. Part of her had been as nervous to start training as she had been excited to start training, but Larkshine had dispelled some of the former at least.
The offer to share prey was unexpected, but it was a way to spend time with her mentor as well as fill her belly. Briarpaw wouldn't pass up the opportunity. Larkshine seemed so nice. "I am a little hungry." She admitted, "What are we going to do tomorrow, hunting?" The fresh kill pile did look a bit low, she noted, settling down beside her mentor. "Though I do want to get better at fighting. Not that I want to fight anyone for real." She added hastily.

Larkshine Tier 3 Warrior | Shadowclan | She/Her
A purr rumbled from Larkshine as her apprentice sat down beside her. “I think we’ll go hunting tomorrow. I don’t like how low the fresh kill pile is right now.” She mewed as she took a strip from the rabbit lying in front of her. Her eyes looked at the young calico sitting beside her. The young cat had voiced her desire to train but she had also said she didn’t want to actually fight for real. Good thing her mentor felt the same way.
“We will also do some more battle training before you get named a warrior! It is good to know how to fight, even if you don’t like to.” Larkshine mewed as she looked at her feet. “Hesitating to fight can get you or someone else hurt though, so you always need to be ready.” She shook her head as her mind went back to the patrol that resulted in her going blind in her eye. If she had actually been ready to fight and if she would’ve not hesitated, she would probably still be able to see with both her eyes.
She quicky turned back to Briarpaw, “Lucky for me, when I hesitated it only cost me my eye!” Larkshine knew this was a serious topic, but she couldn’t help but chuckle a little bit. She brushed her tail across Briarpaw’s back reassuringly. “Don’t worry as long as I’m around, I wont let anything bad happen to you!” Discord: ChaoticCrow | Timezone: Mountain Daylight Time (MDT) | Code (c) Kieer

"I can't wait!" Hunting and being able to provide for the clan was definitely more exciting than spilling blood, in Briarpaw's opinion.
"That makes sense, I guess. Will we ever have to fight for real, you think? Outside of raccoons and things, I mean." It was a scary thought, though Briarpaw knew she would if push came to shove. She cared for her clanmates and would never want to see any of them hurt... Though the thought of hurting another cat was a little horrifying to think about.
Was Larkshine... Attempting to joke? About her own injuries? Briarpaw nearly choked on the mouthful of food she had taken, staring in surprise at her mentor. "I-" She blinked up at Larkshine and shook her head. What could she possibly say to that? She wasn't wrong, she supposed. "I guess it's necessary sometimes... Doesn't mean I have to like it." She mewed finally.

Larkshine Tier 3 Warrior | Shadowclan | She/Her
“I don’t think we’ll ever have to fight anything other than predators… or I at least hope we won’t have to!” Larkshine mewed before pulling a bit of the rabbit free and eating it. She hadn’t really thought about having to fight anything outside of predators and really hoped she wouldn’t have too either. “Then again, there are cats out there who do crave violence and even if you try to calm the situation down, they will still fight so I don’t know.” She mewed with a slight growl.
Larkshine didn’t like to think about cats who attacked just because they were bored. Something about that just didn’t sit right with her. Sure sparring with clanmates was a lot of fun and necessary for training in case they need to fight but attacking another cat outside of your clan just for fun was something else for sure. She shook her head and looked at her young apprentice. “We’ll go hunting first thing in the morning, Ok? Get your mind off all this fighting nonsense!” She chirped before heading to her den! “Goodnight Briarpaw!”

"I don't understand why anyone would like violence." Briarpaw mewed, taking another bite of prey, "I mean, self defense is one thing, I get that. But to attack others just because?" The apprentice's nose wrinkled.
The change in subject was welcome, and she was excited to hear of what they'd be doing tomorrow. "I can't wait!" She purred, "Night Larkshine! See you tomorrow!" And with that, the apprentice stood and stretched. Maybe she'd catch one of her siblings before she went to her nest for the night.
