Kestelpaw's Moonstone Journey

Acornstar sighed softly to herself as she crossed the camp, her eyes drifting upwards to judge the time. It had been a sudden request of Fawnshine that she take over moonstones - or at least, just this one - for now as they all reeled with Echosong being...Gone. She shook her head, trying to fight how her heart wanted to sink at the thought. She was just starting to get onto her paws once again, prepared to lead the Clan with her friend by her side but... Fate had seemly said otherwise and Fawnshine was doing everything she could as the lone medicine cat. If it meant that Acornstar had to help her bear the burden, so be it.

She had at least gotten the medicine cat to prepare the bundle of herbs - Acornstar was liable to accidentally poison poor Kestelpaw if it was made by her paws with how little she knew of herbs - and placed it at the entrance of the apprentice's den as she slipped inside to fetch the apprentice. "Kestelpaw," she murmured, gently prodding the she-cat. "Its time for your moonstone - I'll be leading you there," she said, before she turned and padded from the den - best to keep the conversation short so the rest of the apprentices weren't disturbed any more then they had to. Sitting down next to the entrance, she waited patiently for the apprentice to step from the den before she motioned at the herbs with her tail. "Eat up - they may not taste the greatest, but will help you keep your strength for the long trek ahead," she explained, before a soft sigh escaped her. "Fawnshine has her paws full dealing with other things, but she did at least prepare the herbs so you can have faith that they will be exactly what you need."
