Cloudypetal had led them to her favorite training grounds. She had taught Cricketpaw here, and her eyes sparkled with excitement. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a warm glow over the moorland.

"This will be your first sparring session," She began, her voice calm yet firm. "Spiderpaw, remember the goal is not to hurt each other! Sheathed paws only." She mewed.

Pacing a few tail lengths away, she crouched low. Her mismatched gaze gleamed with focus - and she subtly shifted her weight slowly between her paws. It helped her compensate for her partial blindness greatly.

"Whenever you're ready, Spiderpaw," She called, "I'll let you have the first move."

Spiderpaw could barely sit still, kneading the ground and fighting as his mentor explained the rules. "Gotcha! Soft paws, gentle maws," he confirmed, giving an obedient nod. Sparing was for fun and learning, not for hurting, he'd never want to do any actual damage to anybody.

Cloudypetal gave him the go-ahead to attack, but Spiderpaw remained still for an extra beat, his thoughts racing as he tried to devise a plan. However, he quickly realized tactical strategies were boring to come up with, the ideas fizzling in favor of just figuring out things as he went. That'd definitely go well.

Spiderpaw bounded forward without warning, rounding to his mentor's blind side before launching himself at her shoulder with outstretched paws, hoping to use the momentum to knock her over.
