It started as an ordinary patrol. Lighttail was with a few other SkyClan cats, marking the border as normal. And then she saw the rogue. A silver cat stood just barely on the SkyClan side of the scent line. Lighttail bristled, hissing to alert her patrol.
“What the?! Oh foxdung!” Bianca exclaimed upon the realization. She’d crossed the border, hadn’t she? And the younger she-cat and her patrol didn’t seem happy about it. This could get ugly.

Graywind marked the border in silence alongside Lighttail and some of their other clanmates. Lighttail wasn't someone she knew all that well, though Graywind was glad to be on patrol with at least one cat who wasn't snapping at someone else for one thing or another.
The hiss from the once-Shadowclan warrior surprised Graywind, and she was quick to turn toward her. A cat she didn't recognize was just barely over the border... She only hoped this wouldn't get ugly.
"You're no clan cat, are you?" Graywind tipped her head, golden eyes watching the silver she-cat, "The border - I'm sure you noticed the scent? - can be followed if you are passing by, but we can't tolerate other cats stepping over it." If this could be resolved peacefully, Graywind would prefer that to the alternative. The memory of that battle with Thunderclan at the fallen oak was still fresh, even if it had been seasons ago. But this was just one cat, surely she wouldn't be so keen to fight as that? Hopefully she was just a wandering traveler, like that one tom she had met what felt like seasons ago...

Lighttail could only stare as she met the gaze of the older cat. Something seemed odd about her, and Lighttail began to feel the ever-familiar tingle between her shoulders as her lightning injury acted up. Shaking it off, she backed up Graywind. “Yeah, why are you over the border? Surely you could smell it?”
Bianca stepped back, hesitance in her body language. There was something peculiar about this cat. Looking between the two, she mewed, “I… I’m really sorry. I must have been lost in thought. I’m Bianca, and you are…?”

The presence of her clanmate was a comfort, and she glanced briefly toward Lighttail as she gave her pelt a shake.
"Graywind." The golden-eyed she-cat offered simply. It didn't seem like the outsider was interested in a fight, and that was fine by Graywind. If Lighttail wanted to introduce herself, that was up to her. The name was as odd as Felix had been, though Graywind supposed most things were odd when faced with someone outside of the clans' sensibilities even to her. "If you're just passing by, we won't trouble you so long as you stick to the other side of the border." Well, she wouldn't. Some of her clanmates were unfortunately hotheads, but even Sunfire wouldn't now, right?
She could almost hear Stoneheart scoff in disapproval even though the older warrior wasn't on this patrol. "Still, just because we won't... I'd pay attention around clan borders. Can't speak for them, but most clan cats aren't so accepting of simple mistakes." And that was all this was, right?

"That was strange," Graywind commented, watching as the stranger left just as quickly as she had appeared. "She seemed... I don't know, spooked? When you said your name." Graywind wondered if the two had met before, perhaps on another border maybe. Either way it wasn't really her place to pry, she felt. Still... It was certainly curious.
