| Hemlockfox Rank: T2 Medicine Cat
It had been several sunrises since the half-moon meeting and Hemlockfox had been agonizing over what to do. Rather than their usual, useless prophecies and omens, StarClan had come forward with information that had him questioning everything. He'd not had time to think about it that night, but in the days following the meeting, the voices haunted his every waking moment. 'You do not share the flame of the sun you were raised beneath. Look to the berries and bark of the forest for your true kin.' RiverClan and WindClan were out of the question and ShadowClan's territory was mostly made up of marshes. ThunderClan was the only answer. Hemlockfox only hoped that his fears were just that...fears.
The medicine cat wanted to dismiss StarClan's message as the insane ramblings of the dead but, the more he thought about it, the more it made sense. None his littermates resembled Sunfire in the slightest and they'd certainly not inherited any of his reckless personality. Though, this meant that Juniperheart had, at some point, been seeing a ThunderClanner. She had been a traitor, a codebreaker. If he was right, he was the product of a cross-clan relationship...a cat who wasn't even supposed to exist. Hemlockfox growled low in his throat and dug his claws deep into the soil.
Did Sunfire know? Was that why he'd abandoned him to be whisked away to WindClan? Maybe...he'd found out and decided that he wanted nothing to do with half-blood kits. Could it explain why he'd been so careless with his and Bubblebeam's lives that day he led them into ThunderClan's territory? Could this even explain how quickly Sunfire had forgotten his first litter the instant his new kits had been born? Hemlockfox groaned, his ears flat against his skull. There was a time in his life where he wouldn't have cared if he and Sunfire didn't share blood...but that time had passed. Sunfire hadn't acted like a father in moons. Especially not towards his sisters
His poor sisters. Bubblebeam, Sorrelmist, and Ploverpaw. None of them looked at all like Sunfire, but it was Sorrelmist in particular that looked suspiciously akin to a certain ThunderClan tom Hemlockfox had seen during gatherings. He didn't know the tom's name, but there was no denying the uncanny similarities that he'd have never noticed until now. So, here he sat on the very edge of the border between WindClan and ThunderClan, his tail curled neatly around his paws.
If the grey tom didn't happen to pass by, he'd simply have to convince whichever cat he saw first to take him to ThunderClan's camp. They couldn't say no...not even if he'd once been SkyClan's medicine cat. If they did, he'd find another way to speak to the grey ThunderClanner. It didn't matter how he did it - he needed answers. If Juniperheart was still alive, he'd have asked her, but life was never that simple - especially not lately - so this was his only option. Though, Hemlockfox wasn't sure what he would do if his suspicions were confirmed to be true...he couldn't bring himself to think that far ahead. And, hopefully, it wouldn't be true at all.
