Poppyshine
Poppyshine knew that she could not mope and drag her paws around forever. She tried not to seem too weighed down around camp, although she knew she slipped up in that regard a lot on her patrols. Right now, though, she needed to upkeep her duties as a deputy, and that meant checking in with apprentices and seeing how they were doing.
She approached a couple apprentices who were resting together and gave them a small smile. Wrenpaw, who even after all this time had not earned her warrior name—though Poppyshine did not blame her. She started her medicine cat apprentice training only to fall ill enough that she had to abandon that line of work. It made Poppyshine’s heart ache. And then Creekpaw, who was brand new to being an apprentice. They were two opposites on the spectrum of apprentice, but she hoped they both were doing well.
“Wrenpaw, Creekpaw,” she greeted softly. “How are you two doing? Wrenpaw, how’s your health?”

Wrenpaw
Riverclan Camp
Wrenpaw was trying to get as much sunlight as possible. After moons of cloudy skies and sickness-fueled confinement indoors or fatigue so intense she hardly noticed where she was, Wrenpaw felt like a plant that had been trapped beneath rocks, struggling to get enough sunlight to bloom again. So, now that she was feeling healthy enough to do so, whenever she had the chance, she spent her time soaking up the sunlight outside in camp. She felt like she was getting in Littlesplash’s way more often than not in the medicine den anyway.
Besides, it was nice to get the chance to talk to her clanmates again anyway. She looked up from Creekpaw when Poppyshine approached, and she gave Poppyshine as big of a smile as she could muster. The tension leftover from the war still hadn’t eased out of her clanmates, not even her cheerful former (current? Wrenpaw didn’t know anymore) mentor. With those fresh scars Poppyshine was sporting, she could hardly blame her; but the last thing she wanted was to be another source of distress or worry.
“Auntie! Hi,” She purred, her voice still a little rough than it used to be, but hopefully cheerful enough to negate any concern. “I’m doing good. Better.” She glanced at Creekpaw to hear her answer as well.
