Pineblossom

There had been an influx of predators since they returned to their territory. It seemed like the marsh was a nice place for badgers and foxes to make their home. It was ShadowClan territory, however, not theirs, and so Sablestrike assigned for Pineblossom and Quillsplash to hunt down one of the many predators. Today, it was no fox with sharp teeth or long-clawed badger, but instead a porcupine that posed a threat to the younger more inexperienced apprentices. Pineblossom could only remember fighting a porcupine once, and it made her lip curl to remember.

“Have you encountered one before?” she asked Quillsplash as they searched through the territory for the creature that had been spotted on a couple of patrols. “They are nasty little things. You can expect to be hit with many of their quills no matter how you try and fight it.”

She slowed and caught scent of the thorned animal. She pointed with her nose off to the side and together they crept carefully forward. There it was, drinking from one of the muddy pools that littered their territory. Pineblossom met Quillsplash’s eyes to make sure he was ready and then she sprung at the thing. She hissed as quills immediately poked into her pelt and the porcupine shrieked at the sudden attack. The porcupine swung its tail at Pineblossom and she quickly turned her head so she would be thorned in her side and not her face.

Pineblossom used Jumping Strike, dealing 13 (10+3) damage and costing 7 SP. The attack dealt 3 damage to Pineblossom because of Quill Armor. The porcupine used Tail Smack, dealing 15 damage and costing 15 SP.
