We'll All be Well (c)

Tallshadow lounged in the sparse shelter of a rocky overhang. The snow didn't settle here, so while the ground was still freezing, it wasn’t wet, which was a marked improvement over the last few places WindClan had settled in as the journey dragged on. At least they were going home, even if progress was slow through the whirling snow and treacherous mountains. The golden tom stretched out on his side to his full impressive length, catching the rocky soil with the side of his claws so he could bend his spine in a satisfying stretch. His pads were raw and aching from constantly bounding through the snow, and he’d already offered his meager contributions to the growing fresh-kill pile. He would conserve his energy for the next leg for the journey.

The tabby lifted his head to see Stoatkit venturing out into the cold, looking as determined as ever to get up to whatever kits got up to in times like these. Tallshaodw beckoned the tom-kit over with a welcoming flick of his long feathery tail. “Big plans today, little brother?” The lanky warrior asked in a deep rumble.

STOATKIT
Stoatkit had been climbing his way out of the make-shift nursery, a puzzled, but determined look etched into his features until he heard the call of his elder brother. At once, his head whipped in the direction of the golden tom and he scampered over, sending sprays of snow up in his wake. A loud purr was rumbling from his chest once he reached Tallshadow.

"Yes!" He answered eagerly, straightening his body out so that he was poised proudly. "I'm going to prove to Tigerstar and Sootstorm that I'm WindClan's greatest warrior." There was short pause that lasted all of a heartbeat as realization struck him. "Well, one of WindClan's greatest warriors." Stoatkit dipped his head to his brother, green eyes glossy with respect. A dramatic response in truth, but Stoatkit would rather overemphasize his appreciation to his family than to let it be believed he thought they were weak.

He took the chance to settle beside Tallshadow, thankful for the tom for finding the current space they took shelter in. Stoatkit didn't exactly hate Leafbare, but he could certainly do without a wet tail and paws every time he wanted to relax. Safe to say, it was far from his favorite season though he'd yet to experience the others. "You'll help me, right?"

Tallshadow answered Stoatkit’s tiny purr with a deeper one of his own. His amber gaze glittered with amusement at his brother’s hasty correction, but he nodded thoughtfully. “It’s a noble ambition.” He flicked his long golden tail over the spotted kits back.

“Eaglefly let me practice battle moves with him when I was a kit.” The warrior said with a knowing glance at the eager kit, who looked like he was trying very hard to fit his kitten body into a dignified pose. “I could show you if you want to start practicing early. The stance of course, not how to use it on your littermates.” He added internally wincing at the thought of Sootstorm’s already chaotic litter trying to smack each other more than they already did. He did not want to be responsible for that.

"Yes, please! Yes, Tallshadow!" Battle moves! Battle stances! Whatever Tallshadow wanted to call it, Stoatkit wanted to learn it. His big brother was going to help turn him into a proper WindClan warrior and that was all he cared about. In an instant he was back on his paws, his attempt at a noble stance only a a memory now. He was crouched down with his lower half in the air: a playful bow. Behind him, his tail lashed wildly a hint to his unbridled excitement.

"And I promise I won't use it on my sisters or my brother. Or you!" Even if Crakekit deserves it. "I'll only use it on the cats that deserve it!" He stretched out a paw, batting at his elder brother's larger one.
