Brightpaw headed far away from the group of cats to a closed space near the shore. Maybe then he could spend some alone time with his friend or maybe lover, but they were friends, right? A hint of amusement was reflected into his eyes from the lake. He chuckled, giving a smile. Was she sick? Well, he wasn’t and wouldn’t stand for all this nonsense from Acorn telling him to help the sick clan cats. He realized he started ignoring Bluepaw more. Was that just a thing? Or was it a connection with Berrypaw? He stared deep into his own reflection, rethinking his choices before smiling, licking the water, and breathing in and out "berrypaw!" He meowed, seeing her silhouette slowly trot towards him. His fur rose up in excitement. He felt his legs immediately take action. He bounded towards her, the only light of his life. When would he confess? It's been the second time they’ve met now. He purred delightfully, "I haven’t seen you about the journey."

"Oh, bright…" Berrypaw chuckled, running across the shoreline, barely coughing like the rest. "I’m only mildly coughing, so I’m okay. You look completely fine," she meowed, curling up with him. Wait, what was she doing? She was disloyal, maybe, but who could care? She purred back at the tom, nuzzling with him. "We’re gonna be okay together? Right?" she meowed. Brightpaw was always bright, and that was something Berrypaw could count on. She laid on her back, absorbing the sunlight. "I really focused more on SkyClan for the journey part," she meowed, wary of someone finding out, being the reason she spent most time there. Her thoughts interrupted her; she felt the same feeling: love. But something else lingered, something more painful: unfaithfulness. She turned away, staring back at the clans so far now, then hissing, "Brightpaw, what if someone finds out?" she meowed. They were in different clans; it was surely forbidden. But they weren’t in love but—it was all too much. Berrypaw knew she loved Brightpaw. Would she race back to SkyClan? Or stay with Bright... She returned to a happy feeling; now she laid on her side, breathing. She suddenly smiled back at Brightpaw, worries fading away, including Beechfang.
