Ajex was beginning to get bored of the life of a rouge. Don't get him wrong, he loved the thrill that came with encountering a new beast and beating it. Well, beating it didn't really matter. As long as he could learn from the experience, it was a good enough. But lately prey was becoming scarcer and scarecer, and with it the predators. Which was a real pity, considering how Ajex had gotten the unhealthy habit of eating owls and snakes instead of rabbits and mice. They were harder to catch, yes, but that was the fun of it! Now the ginger tabby was crouched down, gaze fixed on the only other creature he had seen that morning: a squirrel. His stomach rumbled, and his gaze once again snapped upwards to the sky in hopes of finding a shadow of a hawk or an eagle, but it was as empty as ever. Just then, a small dot appeared in the sky, and drew closer and closer. A hawk! Ajex lashed his tail in anticipation, completely ignoring the squirrel now as his attention shifted to the near target.

The hawk swooped down, talons flashing in a motion that Ajex had long since gotten used to. He threw himself forward, claws digging into the bird's body and throwing it towards the ground in one swift motion.
