Catching Up [Bearpaw]

Wolfblossom shivered as a gust of cold wind ruffled her thick fur, blue eyes narrowed as she gazed up at the trees. The foliage had turned to pretty shades of reds and golds, with leaves now littering the ground, but where the sound of constant birdsong filled the air, today the forest was quiet. It had been quiet for weeks now, and her clanmates had grown thinner as their fresh kill dwindled. She had sent more hunting patrols into twolegplace, but they would need to talk to Riverclan or Thunderclan's leadership sooner rather than later. The responsibility was a weight on her shoulders that she'd been feel more and more recently.

With a shake of her head, Wolfblossom forced her attention to the cat she'd asked to patrol with her. "How've you been, Bearpaw?" As heavy as the burden of responsibility was, she was always glad to simply spend time among her clanmates, too. Especially family. "How has your training been going?" It was hard to believe, it seemed like only yesterday that Wolfblossom had brought fresh-kill to the young kits in the nursery. They had all grown, and it filled the deputy with equal parts pride and dread.
