Subject: Dustpaw's Moonstone Journey Fri 11 Aug 2023 - 21:11
Sparrowthorn would never enjoy tiptoeing through the throng of apprentices, most sleeping soundly, to get to the one she needed to wake. Too many bodies. Placing the travelling herbs down next to the sleeping pelt of Dustpaw, the molly poked the apprentice a few times. "Time for your Moonstone. Eat the herbs, meet me by the entrance." Turning to tiptoe away, Sparrowthorn had already laid her herbs near the entrance to eat as she waited.
Dustpaw awoke and did what he was told, he ate the herbs without anycomplaints. Not wanting to wake his friends up, he padded silently out to meet sparrowthorn at the entrance.

"Let's go." Sparrowthorn flicked her tail to get Dustpaw to follow, and she began leading him through the moors. The Highstones, thankfully, weren't far. It took maybe a quarter of the night to arrive, the moon ascending to its highest point on their way.
"Stick close," She mewed, as they approached the entrance to the tunnels. The narrow, winding paths that she knew like the back of her paw were claustrophobic to larger cats. Wouldn't do to leave an apprentice behind. Soon enough, it was over, the light at the end of the tunnel shown just how Sparrowthorn knew it would. "Put your nose to the stone. You will fall asleep and Starclan will come to visit you. I will be here." Settling into the corner, the molly tucked her paws under her, waiting for Dustpaw to fall into slumber.

Dustpaw did as he was told and touched his nose to the cool stone before closing his eyes. When they reopened in was in a starry field and a cat was standing in front of him. Dustpaw got in a fighting stance, not having a clue who this was.
The starlit grass parted as a pale white and lilac point she-cat raced across the moors, long strides making quick work of the distance between herself and the apprentice who had just found himself in the starry landscape.
The young tom who appeared in front of her woke up read to fight, and Swiftspirit resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she came to a stop before him, seeming completely unfazed by her dash across the starry moors. "Hello, Dustpaw." The starry she-cat greeted, "You can relax, not everything's a fight, y'know."
"My name is Swiftspirit, and I was Windclan when I died to the dark forest... Quite a bit before your time, but your leader and elders knew me."
Dustpaw got out of his fighting stance but still eyed her suspiciously. Most everything is a fight." he replied back, sitting down as his long bushy tail covered his paws. His dusty fur sprkled many shades in the starry landscape. "You must be very old then." he mewed not even missing a beat when she finished talking.
"No, not everything." She sighed, "Foxes and the dark forest, yes. But most of the time words will work on other cats. Using them tends to save a lot of trouble." Swiftspirit replied.
"Old? I am younger than Smallstar, do not call me old while he still walks the earth." She snorted, though there was a hint of amusement in her voice, not annoyance.
