| Silentpaw Gender: Female Rank: Apprentice
Silentpaw was curled up in the apprentice's den, her fluffy tail swept over her nose as she slept. Suddenly, the earth shook, sending vibrations through the young apprentice's body. She lifted her head, pelt standing on end as wind tore through the den, scattering bits of moss and other odds and ends. Upon further inspection, Silentpaw realized that she was the only cat still in the den. Everyone else had already left - probably to go on patrol or bring prey back for the clan.
Hesitantly, the white she-cat got up and peered out from the safety of her den, pupils blown wide as she observed the storm brewing in the sky. Clouds blew over, quickly blotting out the early-morning sun, and Silentpaw shrank away, frightened. She had never experienced a storm like this, especially not one that made the ground tremble.
Her whiskers twitched uncomfortably and Silentpaw crept toward the back wall of the den, her fur on end as the sky lit up with a brief flash of light. She had always hated thunderstorms, but this was the worst one yet. The way the air seemed to shiver with electricity and the way the ground trembled always made Silentpaw want to tuck her face into her paws and hide until it was over. The vibrations of thunder overwhelmed her senses - the ones she had, anyway.
A moment later, the ground shook again and the silky she-cat whimpered before curling back into a ball and wrapping her paws over her nose. She couldn't stand storms - the rain. Wading in rivers and dipping her paws in water was plenty for Silentpaw; rain was so unnecessary and bothersome.
