 Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. “Psst,” something hissed to Acornkit, “Psst!” It was a tom-kit hiding behind a tuft of tall grass. Yet his long, grey tail stuck out blatantly, wiggling around like a young squirrel’s might. He smiled brightly to Acornkit, who might even be able to notice the bits of some orange plant in his little kitten fangs. “Acornkit!” he called once again in a whisper, “Come see!”
Possibly misleading, but Marigoldkit actually didn’t know the curl-eared kitten all that well. Nearly a stranger, even. But he did know her name, and he knew that she was curious, so that might just make her the perfect partner in crime. That's what was so fun about meeting new cats, anything could happen! Either way, it might be an adventure figuring out who she really was. He just hoped she could keep a secret, for both of their sakes. ______________________________________

"you won't get an answer if you never ask~"
Acornkit's bushy tail waggled high as she strutted around camp in search of something new. In fact, she had spent so long with no luck that she was nearly about to resort to taking a nap. Dejected, the kit turned back towards the nursery.
"Psst..."
What was that? Acornkit's eyes suddenly opened wide. "Who said that?" she gasped, head swiveling around.
"Psst!"
"Show yourself!" she called, before finally spotting the tom responsible for all the psst-ing. "...Marigoldkit?" Cautiously she inched her way closer to the spot of tall grass. She was met with a sunny grin and twinkling eyes. Mischievous almost. Marigoldkit seemed to have a certain allure to him, something mysterious that Acornkit desperately needed to discover. Though they had shared some time in the nursery, Acornkit had spent most of her time tagging along with her siblings. She had nearly forgotten there were other kits to play with as well.
Since the tom-kit had been the one to invite her, it couldn't hurt for her to find out. "What is it?" Her voice was hushed but fervent. Now that she was close enough to peer into the grass, she realized flecks of orange stuck to his teeth.
